The impeachment inquiry won't make Trump any less trustworthy to his supporters

Wednesday, October 16, 2019
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 50% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) disapprove.
He has actually been able to shift the dial on what is deemed acceptable behavior and maintain a perception of trustworthiness, at least amongst his supporters.
Brad Parscale, Donald Trump’s campaign manager, boldly went on record stating an impeachment inquiry will “only serve to embolden and energize President Trump’s supporters and create a landslide victory for the president.” He may well be right, but whether or not the impeachment inquiry energizes his supporters might have nothing to do with whether or not Trump is vindicated.

Whether or not Trump is proven guilty of wrongdoing or of lying, for many of his supporters, the

impeachment inquiry is unlikely to prove him any less trustworthy.
