Pure BS: WaPo Op-Ed: ‘Homeschooling’ During Coronavirus Crisis ‘Damaging’ to Children

Via David

Really, now you attack homeschooling? I’d wager the average homeschooled kid in America fares better in virtually any metric that the average public/leftist indoctrination school kid. You should do a story in it... but you won’t because you would never expose the racket. https://twitter.com/washingtonpost/status/1243727020984619008
“If students can so easily forget what they have learned over a few weeks away from school, did they ever really learn it at all? Or were they just taught and tested, memorizing and regurgitating information but not really learning it? And if learning loss is so pervasive during school breaks, then what happens after students graduate from high school? Does all the knowledge just disappear, or did they never really learn the content adequately?”:
A former education commissioner of Tennessee said in an op-ed published Friday that children who are away from their public schools during the coronavirus crisis will suffer “damaging” effects with “iPads and parents” serving as their new teachers.

“Homeschooling during the coronavirus will set back a generation of children,” reads the headline of an op-ed at the Washington Post Friday by Kevin Huffman, now a partner at the City Fund, an education nonprofit that says it “partners with local leaders to create innovative public school systems.”

  1. "Damaging"- because mom and dad are going to be teaching old math and how easy it can be- so it's not a boring, torturous manufactured way to solve something simple.

Then once the kids find out that learning can be fun............ they'll look for things to learn that don't have the approval of Big Education.

  2. The real danger is that people will discover they dont really need huge collective education infrastructures to teach children in grades K-9. And its arguable if they need it after that if they have credible curriculum and resources.

Of course, the stupid parents will still have stupid children, they just wont have "failing schools" to blame for it.

  3. Another thing the "professional educators" is the fear that many will find out how worthless, incompetent they are at actual teaching knowledge and facts, in addition to what is not taught and not the social engineer and propaganda their children are getting. Public education is a scam. The teachers union a criminal organization as well as political arm of the DNC. The money we spend on public education is a form of welfare for those not smart enough to work in other fields. Should you think I am being too harsh or unfair, then take a look at test given to students a century ago in order to pass to the next grade level. I rest my case.
