VIDEO: California Cafe Defies Shelter-in-Place Orders, Opens for Dine-In Service

A restaurant opened for dine-in service Friday in El Dorado County, California, despite Gov. Gavin Newsom’s shelter-in-place orders meant to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

“I will not survive another month. This place is my livelihood and it’s being taken away from me,” Café El Dorado owner Cherie Baldridge told the Mountain Democrat.

  1. In the Free State of Texas today we had a sit down dinner at our favorite Mexican place.
They were wearing masks and had plastic flatware (without knives- I had to clean my Leatherman,,,) and tables were closed to keep a 6' distance.

Outside of that and a broken back window regulator onthe Silverado- everything was fine.
Oh, and we had to leave via a different door.

    1. Why did you have to leave by a different door?

    2. One way in, another way out avoids people getting too close to each other as they enter and exit at the same time. --Ron W

    4. LOL!

I went in to our local Walmart and they were attempting to facilitate one way aisles with markers on the floor, but there seemed to be total obliviousness to their directions. --Ron W

  2. I bet that the State government will still demand that the cafe pays all requisite income, health, licensing and payroll taxes.
