Hi Brock!! Class of '63... is this "High School or College??" I was Class of '63 Hammond High School, Louisiana..... I guess we are in the same ball park!!
Thank you and I was at USARV Headquarters, Long Binh for 12 months, then extended 6 months and another 3 months(Special Services Depot, Saigon.) to be at 31 months total when I went back since I would get out of the service then as I had been offered a job with OICC/RVN. I flew back to Saigon with a .45 derringer in my back pocket:) I thought there was a Tim Morton at GMS but on searching all the Mortons I didn't find one.
”Oh, if only we could clone that class and replace a number of today's millenials. My wife went to Georgia Women's College in Millegeville. GMC (Georgia Military College) was across the way from the then all female GA. Women's college. Many of our friends, neighbors, and classmates went to both schools and many GMC grads went to VN.
Thanks and the best comment I have heard in a long time. We had a girls college in Lewisburg also, the Greenbrier College for Women which went out of business in 1972 as GMS did. It's amazing that so many military schools, mainly in Virginia, went out of business and GMS had survived since 1809, a crying shame caused by the antiwar hysteria then sweeping the nation. We had one KIA in Vietnam who always had a smile upon his face:( https://freenorthcarolina.blogspot.com/2012/10/63-pg-deceased-glenn-r-brewster-kia-vn.html
Boy you are sure a young man back then! I bet you were a lady killer while in uniform!
ReplyDelete:) Oh, to have a redo.

You look proud as a Peacock, Brock. Do you still have your Peacock?
ReplyDeleteSure do but still haven't found a 'wife' for him that's reasonable. :(
