VMI superintendent resigns after Black cadets describe relentless racism

After The Post’s story was published, Northam (D), a 1981 VMI graduate, ordered an independent investigation into the Lexington school, which received $19 million in state funds in fiscal 2020. In a letter announcing the inquiry, Northam and other state officials said they had “deep concerns about the clear and appalling culture of ongoing structural racism” at VMI. (Talk about the  pot calling the kettle black)

The superintendent of the Virginia Military Institute resigned Monday morning after Black cadets described relentless racism at the nation’s oldest state-supported military college, and Gov. Ralph Northam (D) ordered an independent probe of the school’s culture.

Retired Gen. J.H. Binford Peay III, 80, had been superintendent of the 181-year-old school since 2003.

  1. it was more about his reaction to the charges, coupled with the fact he refused to remove the confederate monument and jackson's statue. he angered northam and a couple of democrat state assemblymen and they vowed to get him, which they did by threatening to cut off the funds. general peay had little choice either way because he was caught between the cadets/parents/cadre/staff etc that wanted to keep the statues and the vengeful democrats with the purse strings. while i didn't agree with some of his policies, i feel genuine sorrow for himand his family. i hope to live to see northam choking on his own blood. they talk racism, but they just created about a million more.

  2. Most likely not racism but disciplining the undisciplined. Like
bringing rats into Trump Towers. The blacks see racism
everywhere when they are the racists and always have been. Yet
    nothing about black faced northam.
Gen Peay III is to be saluted for his strength of character.
Good bye VMI. Its been a good ride.

      Typical for the left.

  3. Where will they find a black female lesbian retired general to replace him?

    1. :) I knew VMI was taking the commie path when Dees spoke there with the attendance being mandatory. That and they used the S&S for their New Market yearly reenactment.
