NC: Confederate monument in Elizabeth City needs to go, but has no takers

Via Cousin John

A Confederate monument in Elizabeth City must be moved soon, but has no place to go.

The SCV groups plan to appeal the commission’s ruling by next week, likely to Pasquotank County Superior Court, said Tennessee attorney Edward Phillips, who represents the plaintiffs.

A Confederate monument in Elizabeth City slated for removal has no place to go.

Pasquotank County will even bear the cost of moving it for anyone who wants it.

  1. It sounds like Hammett is, *wink wink* nudging the protest groups that if, you know, there was a protest and that protest became unruly *wink wink* then the statue could be removed for reasons of 'public safety'.

Item 2: Does the NC state law allow for a commission to decide to not let a law suit proceed? The commission decided state and local groups do not have standing.

If no one else wants it, maybe Brock should put it on his land. The County said they would pay for transportation. Shouldn't take more than a day with a crane and some masons to erect it. A BBQ open to God fearing America loving Patriots would cover the cost.

    1. I have already contacted the SCV to state that if their lawsuit doesn't work I would be happy to have it on my land. Brilliant minds.....:)
