In the week following the riot, 4,600 GOP voters in Colorado, 6,000 in North Carolina and 10,000 in Pennsylvania switched parties, according to NPR.
A Colorado Public Radio News analysis found that many Republicans said they left their party because they felt the GOP betrayed former President Donald Trump.

I renewed my license the other day. Wife asked when I got home if I registered to vote at the same time. I said of course. I went republican as usual. She said she went independent. ;(

DeleteOh she is a Trumper for sure. I think she is just a bit jaded atm. I don't blame her really. She said she would never vote again. She registered so I'll take that as a sign.

It would seem the Republican Party would center its identity and philosophy around "the guarantee of a republican form of government and that the United States SHALL protect the States against invasion" ( Article IV, Section 4) . The "republican form of government" is codified in an objective reading of the WORDING of the Constitution to constrain the government to its delegated powers and protect ALL of the Bill of Rights for everyone...special rights and privileges for no one! --Ron W

Once I was talking to one of the orthopaedic surgeons for whom I worked about the Bill of Rights and said something similar. He replied, "well, it depends on how you interpret them." I replied, "by the rules of English grammar, you know, like you should master by Jr. High." Normally a verbose fellow, he was stumped. Would that judges could read and comprehend like that. --Ron W
DeleteOther than Reagan and then Trump, I never voted for a Republican or Democrat for President. They are all globalists and leftists. I usually voted for the Constitution Party or the Libertarian Party candidate. I did the same in Senate elections and for Govdrnor unless a Constitutional conservative ran as a Republican. --Ron W
