A legend has passed from the battles of southern lore. Our beloved Gordon Cotton passed away overnight.
Gordon rejoins his lifelong friend Hobbs Freeman in what is no doubt a laugh-filled and joyous moment.
As in all things Gordon, there is no doubt he has written his own obituary and as such we are going to publish little beyond this notice until we receive his own words on his passing.
Gordon had been under the weather for a couple of months but was on the road to recovery. So much so that we were anticipating another story from him this upcoming week. However, we have confirmed that he no longer must suffer Yankee inferences and cheap wine.
His Vicksburg Daily News family is grieving, as is the entire community.
