President Joe Biden faced intense backlash online following remarks that he made during a press conference on Wednesday about how Americans who own firearms to defend against tyranny would need to own advanced military-grade technology to take on the U.S. government.
“The Second Amendment, from the day it was passed, limited the type of people who could own a gun and what type of weapon you could own,” Biden said. “You couldn’t buy a cannon. [Those who] say the blood of the, the blood of patriots, you know, and all this stuff about how we’re going to have to move against the government.”

Seems he's aware that we don't like him, but what he said shows his ignorance of the second amendment. And does he know he's talking to a group of people who own more guns than any military in the world?
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Simple Simon.....
DeleteYeah, Joe............. Want to remind me again which illiterate tribesmen we've been fighting to a stalemate for the last 20 years who only have machine guns and IEDs?
ReplyDeleteOf course I'm sure the ROEs would be vastly looser if you were fighting against patriots.
As this guy notes in his fantastic piece:

"In something that I find profoundly troubling, when I’ve had this discussion before, I’ve had a Caring Liberal tell me that the example of Iraq doesn’t apply, because 'we kept the gloves on', whereas fighting America’s gun nuts would be a righteous total war with nothing held back… Holy shit, I’ve got to wonder about the mentality of people who demand rigorous ROEs to prevent civilian casualties in a foreign country, are blood thirsty enough to carpet bomb Texas."

Delete"...need military grade technology..." challenge accepted....btw somebody should tell joe that the colonists did in fact have cannons, privately owned cannons, that the revolution began over the british trying to take those cannon. and that one patrick henry raised a company of militia and marched on the govna to get his powder back. and everybody thinks the founders talked the british to death i guess. the govna sailed back to england shortly after. our govna, and slojoe, should follow, while they still can.

DeleteSterling idea, Old Chap. :)
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that individuals could and did own cannon in colonial times.
ReplyDeleteComment by riverrider says so.
DeleteThe stunned twit forgets the reason there was a small set-to at Concord Bridge was that the Brits were after the Cannons, powder and shot that the patriots had hidden. Further, almost ever merchant ship, both sea going and inland had a brace of cannons on the deck. Lastly, the Continental Congress borrowed cannons from the merchants to supply the army of George Washington. So Joe-chi-min is either a liar or an idiot who never opened a history book. I have and I'm Canadian.
