"They Don't Think and Act Like We Do"

The Yankee Problem In America, By Clyde Wilson

"By Yankee I do not mean everybody from north of the Potomac and Ohio......I am using the term historically to designate that peculiar ethnic group descended from New Englanders, who can be easily recognized by their arrogance, hypocrisy, greed, lack of congeniality, and penchant for ordering other people around. Puritans long ago abandoned anything that might be good in their religion but have never given up the notion that they are the chosen saints whose mission is to make America, and the world, into the perfection of their own image."

  1. I could not agree more with the quote by Mr. Wilson. The Puritans, as opposed to the Pilgrims, were rigid, intolerant, and divisive. That mindset has infected, from colonial times onward, every aspect of society, be it religious, political, economical, in a profoundly detrimental way. Thank you for not lumping all of us north of the Mason-Dixon line among their number. I would venture a guess that I am just a misplaced southern soul, raised and living a little farther north than the rest of you. Thank you for this article.

  3. "The South was socially engineered and punished" post-1865 for having the temerity (as seen by most Northern politicians) to break away from and sunder "the Union."
This had absolutely nothing to do with the Leo Frank case which simply did not occur for another 50± years. To conflate the two situations IMHO displays an appalling lack of understanding of American/Southern history.
Another astounding point I feel should be made in this rant: in contrast to all the BLM statements [a very polite word] is that the people of Marietta, Georgia just past the turn of the 20th Century, sooner preferred to believe the word of a Negro to that of a Jew. Interesting, no?

  4. We in Montana get the same problems from Georgia backwater folks. And people from South Carolina seem unable to put down their cigarettes. Smoking is really looked down on in Montana. Mississipians.....I don't know where to start There men keep referring to their grown-up wives as "baby girl". Creepy. And all of these peeps don't have any idea how to keep the noise down for their neighbors. And damn few of them can spell any word that is longer than 4 letters and math? 10th graders still having problems with fractions and long division....Weird. Lots more, but my fingers are tired.

    1. Gregory, are you a descendant of that Puritan group? Sure sounds like it. Bless your heart.

  5. As one who lives behind enemy lines, those being spoken about in this video are most likely transplanted Manhattanites. I live two hours north of the big cesspool and they came up here last year and it's the same thing that the folks in this video speak of. Nothing but complaints of, "Why do you people insist in doing things this way? Why are you people still living in the past? It's the 21st century, get with the program." Yes, they are a cancer and need to be removed.

Have you politely mentioned this to them?

Why do you care? You missed the point of the articles in that we don't want people telling us what to do. We don't care what you do. Just leave us alone.
