NBC Political Director Says Rural/Urban Divide “Stark”

NBC political director and chief White House correspondent, Chuck Todd, today declared the “Rural-Urban political divide is as stark as it has ever been.” In speaking on a Washington, D.C. news radio station this morning, Todd said today’s divided nation is no longer “red state verses blue state, it’s rural verses urban.” He went on to say that many of the politically divisive issues such as gun control and abortion stem from rural and urban differences that are “cultural.”
Is he right? In the 2008 Presidential election, much of rural America was “purple.” In 2012, the color was definitely more red. We hope to hear more of this interesting discussion during the 24th annual Rural Health Policy Institute, the largest rural advocacy event in the nation, where Chuck Todd has been invited to speak.

Mamet: Hands Off My Gun

The individual is not only best qualified to provide his own personal defense, he is the only one qualified to do so.
Karl Marx summed up Communism as
“from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”
This is a good, pithy saying, which, in practice, has succeeded in
bringing, upon those under its sway, misery, poverty, rape, torture,
slavery, and death.
‘In announcing his gun control proposals, President Obama said
that he was not restricting Second Amendment rights, but allowing other
constitutional rights to flourish.’
For
the saying implies but does not name the effective agency of its
supposed utopia. The agency is called “The State,” and the motto,
fleshed out, for the benefit of the easily confused must read “The State will take from each according to his ability: the State will give to each according to his needs.” “Needs and abilities” are, of course, subjective. So the operative statement may be reduced to “the State shall take, the State shall give.”

An AR saves the day

Early Tuesday morning, Christopher Boise heard a noise coming from the basement. As he walked toward the source of that noise, the RIT student noticed two men standing in the downstairs portion of his apartment.
"They were waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs," said Boise.
One of them had a handgun trained on Boise.
Within moments, Boise screamed. His cries were heard by his roommate, Raymond.
"It wasn't like a, 'I stepped by stepped on a piece of glass' kind of scream," Raymond said. "So, I instinctively went to my gun bag."
Raymond owns an AR-15 which is a military style rifle.
Raymond estimated that just five seconds passed until the door started to open. It was one of the intruders.
"By the time I had it out and ready, one of the men came at my door, slowly opened it, saw that there was a barrel on the other side and from there backed out," Raymond said.
The two men fled the apartment.
Nothing was taken and no shots were fired.

Gold Bank Run Accelerating…Now the Swiss Want Their Gold Back- All 1040 Tons of It!

With last week’s announcement by the Bundesbank of the repatriation of 674 tons of German gold from Paris and NY over the next 7 years, we predicted that an avalanche of gold repatriation requests would soon be made to the BOE and the NYFed.
It appears that Switzerland may be next to the game, much to the dismay of the SNB. The Swiss gold initiative, an initiative to Secure the Swiss National Bank’s Gold Reserves, launched in March 2012 by four members of the Swiss parliament, has grown to 90,000 supporters.
Once 100,000 supporters are achieved, the Swiss Parliament must take up the referendum.
The initiative asserts that the Swiss people should have a right to vote on 3 things, none of which will please the banking cartel:
1. To keep Swiss gold physically in Switzerland (ie repatriate Switzerland’s gold)
2. Preventing/forbidding the SNB from selling any more of its gold reserves
3. Requiring the SNB to massively increase their gold holdings to a minimum of 20% of its
reserves within 5 years, held within Switzerland.
Not surprisingly, the Swiss National Bank doesn’t wish to disclose where it’s physical gold is held, but it may soon be forced to once the initiative achieves 100,000 supporters.
