NC: GRNC Alert 2-15-14 Lenoir Co. Put on Notice

Another illegal parks ban WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!

GRNC President, Paul Valone has responded to Lenoir County's proposed ban within parks by documenting how their draft ordinance will violate State Law recently enacted through GRNC-backed bills:

"Specifically, the proposed ordinance claims a county's right to regulate weapons, including concealed handguns carried with a permit issued under Article 54B of Chapter 14 of the North Carolina General Statutes, not only in county owned buildings and appurtenant premises, but also in county parks.

However, in its 2011-2012 Session, the North Carolina General Assembly passed House Bill 650 (S.L. 2011-268), which restricted the ability of local governments to prohibit the lawful carry of concealed handguns in parks to a limited number of "recreational facilities." In 2013, the legislature passed House Bill 937 (S.L. 2013-369), which further narrowed the definition of recreational facilities.

The ordinance's claim to power to regulate concealed handguns under § 153A-121 as "detrimental to the health, safety, or welfare of its citizens" is fallacious for many reasons, but foremost: Although the ordinance correctly notes that § 14-409.40(f), our statewide firearms preemption law, exempts nine statutes under which local governments may still regulate firearms, it seems blissfully unaware that § 153A-121 is not one of the nine exempted statutes."

Lenoir County is now on notice that enacting their proposed illegal ban will result in litigation that they cannot win. It is in the best interest of all North Carolinians that municipalities obey state law, but in this case Lenoir County taxpayers stand the most to lose by the action of irresponsible municipal leaders.

Lenoir’s proposed ordinances were discovered by vigilant GRNC supporters and will be voted on during the Monday, February 17 commissioner’s meeting. GRNC supporters are encouraged to attend and speak to the issue if possible.

Artist Simon Menner recently shared with Vice his Project Camouflage, part of which he spent time with the German Army and its snipers. In the photos, the highly trained marksman blend in damn-near perfectly with their surroundings.

“(The snipers) dig little holes — or “nests,” as they call them — and hang out there for a bit before popping up and putting a bullet through someone’s skull from more than a mile away,” Menner writes.

While the soldiers have a remarkable ability to blend into their environment, the trick, as Menner suggests, is to try to “spot the barrel of a gun” in the what would otherwise be simple landscape shots.

NJ Gun Control Advocate: “No one needs a 15 round magazine unless they’re a domestic terrorist

Tell us how you really feel why don’t you.

“Nobody needs a 15-round ammunition magazine unless they are a domestic terrorist or a gangster”
Those are the words of Bryan Miller, executive director of Heeding God’s Call. God’s Call is a faith based organization that pushes for gun control. Those words were being spoken in regards to a proposed New Jersey gun law that will limit magazine capacity to 10 rounds in the Garden State.

New Jersey already has some of the worst gun laws in the country, including limiting magazine capacity to 15 rounds.

According to NJ.com, that’s not all the anti-gunners in Connecticut are hoping to accomplish this year.

Workers at Tennessee Volkswagen factory reject United Auto Workers union

Workers at a Volkswagen factory in Tennessee have voted against union representation in a devastating defeat for the United Auto Workers union's effort to make inroads in the South.

The 712-626 vote released late Friday was surprising for many labor experts and union supporters who expected a UAW win because Volkswagen tacitly endorsed the union and even allowed organizers into the Chattanooga factory to make sales pitches.

Poll shows swing voters hating everything Obama

A Fox News poll shows that most swing-voters think President Barack Obama is overstepping his legal authority by selectively enforcing Congress’ laws, such as the 2010 Obamacare law.

Sixty-six percent of independents, and 90 percent of Republicans said they disapprove of “Barack Obama going around Congress and using executive orders.”

Only 15 percent of independents, and 7 percent of conservatives, think Obama’s efforts to bypass Congress are “the way our government is supposed to work.”

The lopsided results in the February poll of 1,006 registered voters is a loud warning signal for Obama, who is relying on his extensive use of executive orders, regulations and unilateral actions to boost his policies and his supporters’ morale in the run-up to the November election.

Tom DeLay: Americans Now Live 'Under a Government of Tyranny'

President Barack Obama has so ignored the principles of the Constitution that Americans are now "living under a government of tyranny," Tom DeLay, the former Texas congressman and House Speaker says.

"[T]he Constitution creates a government that reflects the principles given to us in the Declaration of Independence. [It] can only survive and can only carry us into the future if you have people that believe in those principles … and protect the separation of powers," DeLay told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"What we have now is a president who has accelerated the progressive movement that started back with Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson … to such an extent that I now can tell you that we're living under a government of tyranny.

"When you have a president that is cruel and unfair to the people using his powers to undermine the Constitution of the United States [in order] to create a ... monarchy within the presidency, and ignores the Congress or the judicial branch, you have tyranny."

Obama & Alien Smuggling?

Via comment by Christina  on NC: Vass firm charged in worker visa fraud scheme

For a quarter of a century the “largest farm labor contractor in the country,” described by an internal state memo in North Carolina as the impresario of “the largest alien smuggling ring in our nation’s history” according to Mother Jones magazine, has operated with impunity. He has done it right out in the open with state and federal government approval.   His scheme has been successful during the first Bush administration, the Clinton administration, the second Bush administration, and during Barack Obama’s entire first term.  Now, after an extended investigation of its own, Obama’s Department of Justice has, at long last, come down on him like a ton of bricks.

We are talking about Craig Stanford “Stan” Eury, Jr. of the little town of Vass, NC.  On Friday, January 31 a federal grand jury in Greensboro, NC, handed down a 41-count indictment, running to 57 pages, for a variety of dodges in which he and his daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Farrell, allegedly illegally stockpiled mainly Mexican workers for assignment to U.S. employers of their choice, regardless of who they were legally committed to work for.

What the Justice Department has charged him with primarily is gaming the H-2B program, the federal arrangement for bringing in low-skilled non-agricultural workers to work in seasonal or otherwise temporary labor for less than a year.  The idea behind it—that is to say the public rationale—is that foreign workers are brought in with special temporary visas for jobs that American citizens are not available to perform.  Unlike its H-2A counterpart for agricultural workers, which has no cap, the H-2B program is capped at 66,000 per federal fiscal year.

The indictment is for multiple instances of fraud in the operation of the company International Labor Management Corporation (ILMC), which Eury founded in 1994 and turned over to Farrell in 2008.  ILMC is engaged primarily in importing workers with H-2B visas.  The indictment does not involve the much larger and older North Carolina Growers Association (NCGA), a non-profit organization run by Eury and whose operation has garnered most of the “alien smuggling” allegations through the years.  Many of the counts leveled in the indictment relate to the unique nature of H-2B, with its cap, while the general nature of the alleged fraud is recognizable to those who have observed Eury’s dealings in the agricultural field through the years.

The fact that H-2B fraud and ILMC are targeted and not the far larger H-2A and NCGA may be regarded as tactical and not a sign that Obama’s Justice Department is merely aiming at the capillaries and not the jugular with its indictment.  Blame is spread among all the members of the non-profit NCGA, of which, on paper, Eury is simply an employee.  The target is clear in the case of ILMC.  It’s just Eury and his daughter.

Self Defense Nightmare: 250-300 Teens Attack State Fair, 1 Killed, 99 Ejected, Multiple Arrests

Via Jeffery

Young blacks riot at Tampa State Fair

When you train and mentally prepare for a self defense situation, you try to train for and think out as many possible scenarios as possible. However, how many people ever consider a situation in which you could be facing 250-300 possible assailants?

That’s what patrons at the Florida State Fair in Tampa faced last Friday.

According to media reports, 250-300 teenagers descended on the fair, stampeding through the grounds, engaging in physical fights, knocking people out, throwing objects at sheriff’s deputies and destroying property.

One elderly, wheelchair bound woman was knocked out of her chair and her purse was stolen.

After the end of the war, Warsitz was living in an apartment in the American sector, but at 3 a.m. on the night of 5 / December 6, 1945 he was abducted by four Soviet officers.
Numerous interrogations followed, concentrating on his former work on the development of rocket and jet aircraft in the OKH and RLM, at Peenemünde and the Heinkel factory.
He was required to sign a contract which obliged him to co-operate with the Soviets for a period of five years on the development of related technology, but he refused.
As a result he was condemned to twenty-five years forced labour. Shortly after this he was transported to Siberia, to the notorious penal colony 7525/13.
