Steve King Doubles Down: Idea Every Culture is Equal "Not Objectively True"

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) on Wednesday defended his controversial comment this week that some cultures contribute more to civilization than others.

"The idea of multiculturalism, that every culture is equal — that's not objectively true," King told The Washington Post's Philip Rucker, less than 48 hours after he asked on live TV what "subgroups" besides white people had made any contributions to civilization. "We've been fed that information for the past 25 years, and we're not going to become a greater nation if we continue to do that."

Here's what he told Rucker:

"Western civilization is the most successful civilization the world has ever seen.

FBI: 3 Palm Beach County ISIS Supporters Arrested

According to the FBI, the Islamic State in Syria was about to get three new fighters: Dayne "Shakur" Christian, a convicted felon and self-proclaimed "thug" with an AK-47; Greg "Jibreel" Hubbard, and Darren "Daoud" Jackson--all from the West Palm Beach area.

Federal investigators allege the three told an informant they wanted to join the terror group with one of the men--Hubbard--even booking a flight to Germany, the first leg of his trip.

Hubbard sought training in Syria and talked about returning to the U.S. He expressed interest in the White House and the Pentagon as targets.

An FBI spokesperson says the agency had been watching the trio for the past year and made the arrests yesterday at Miami International Airport as Hubbard was about to catch his plane.

Trump Enrages the War Party He’s challenging 70 years of US foreign policy – and they hate him for it!

This election season is so much fun because Donald Trump keeps enraging all the right people – and his timing is perfect. Just as the Republican convention was at its height, with his running mate up there on the podium perorating about the alleged threat of Vladimir Putin, along comes Donald with an interview in the New York Times that has the War Party yelling and screaming bloody murder. The head of NATO; the foreign policy pundits; even some alleged “non-interventionists” – they’re all aghast that Trump is questioning the supposedly sacred tripwires that commit us to going to war if Lower Slobbovia invades Upper Slobbovia.

It started with this article, in which Trump’s views on NATO, the Turkey coup, and other matters were summarized, but it caused such a commotion that the Times published the entire interview, and it is really a sight to see – good news for us anti-interventionists, and very bad news for the internationalists, i.e. the entire foreign policy Establishment.

'Hillary's America': Everything You Need to Know but Didn't Want to Hear: Dinesh D'Souza's newest film reveals the Democrat Party's true colors.

Sometimes in life there are things you need to know but don’t really want to hear. Why? They are inconvenient realities. The movie Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party unveils these inconvenient realities. If you thought that the Democratic Party was bad, it’s worse. If you thought that Hillary was corrupt, she’s more frightening than you can imagine. If the comments of William Peter Blatty, author and producer of The Exorcist, aren’t intriguing, I don’t know what is.

He says about the film, “Utterly terrifying — and based on a true story.

Copperhead snakes engage in nightly summertime feeding congregation

Outdoorsmen know to keep an eye out for copperheads when they're in the woods, but now the venomous snakes are gathering in groups on freshly mowed lawns. Here are some other things you probably weren't worried about, but really should be.  Photo: Picasa
The only Copperhead I like is a dead one.

The first copperhead was not a big deal; if you live in the country surrounded by healthy oak/pine forest you expect to come across one of these common, smallish, generally non-aggressive but potentially dangerous pit vipers whose cryptic camouflage gives them their name.

Our chickens regularly catch, kill and eat these venomous snakes when the fowl find them under the duff or rotted logs or other cover when they are foraging in the woods surrounding our place. And I can count on my heart stopping for a couple of beats a half-dozen or so times a year when I chance upon one while cleaning brush/limb/log piles or otherwise rooting around in copperhead habitat on the property.
But by the time I'd had my sixth nocturnal copperhead encounter in a week, I knew this was different.

Uprising in the Rust Belt: They used to be Democrats. Now they really could hand Donald Trump the White House.

keithobrein_opener.jpg

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa.—Donald Trump’s road to the White House begins here: on a four-lane highway, just east of Pittsburgh, past the roadside taverns, burned-out gas stations, and parking lots choked with weeds, up into the dark fingers of the Allegheny Mountains, and then down into the valley that was once home to steelworkers, coal miners and party-line Democrats.

Regis Karlheim once counted himself among that third group. A farmer’s son, Karlheim grew up doing two things: voting Democratic and growing potatoes. “It was a lot of good years in potatoes,” he said. “Everybody and their brother grew potatoes in Cambria County.”

In the end people just go and shoot without the niceties for the convenience. By and by we will miss civilization, which is what holds barbarism and our worse natures in check. The entire apparatus of civilization is geared towards moderating raw passions it must control. The purpose of churches, custom, culture, manners and law is to restrain the Beast, because the Beast needs restraining. Unfortunately we are at a juncture where restraint may have just left town. Not only have we, in our misguided wisdom, dismantled morality, civility and even law, but on both sides of the aisle the watchword is: power by any means necessary.
