Trump reaches deal to lift steel, aluminum tariffs on Mexico, Canada

The U.S. has reached a deal to lift steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada and Mexico, removing a significant roadblock for congressional approval of President Trump's revision of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

Trump alluded to the deal in remarks to the National Association of Retailers in Washington, D.C., saying he hoped it would benefit U.S. industries and lead to the passage of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

WAYNE ALLYN ROOT: Hard facts: Donald Trump saved the country

I get letters from liberal critics. Every time I report that President Donald Trump has saved the U.S. economy, they claim I’m lying.

And conversely, every time I report Barack Obama ruined the U.S. economy, they claim I’m lying.

Well the proof is out. Liberals, as usual, are wrong. How many times can they be wrong and maintain any credibility?

According to a new analysis by Pew Research — based on hard facts — the Obama years were a nightmare for the 50 states. That’s exactly what I’ve been saying. And Trump’s economic policies have saved those same 50 states. Trump saved the union. That’s exactly what I’ve been saying.

Barr: Obama DOJ Probe into Trump Campaign Handled at a ‘Very Senior Level,’ Not ‘Ordinary Way’

Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer asked Barr in an interview that aired Friday morning about what role the Steele dossier — commissioned by the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign — played in the FBI’s investigation.

“That’s one of the questions that we’re going to have to look it,” Barr said. “It’s a very unusual situation to have opposition research like that, especially one that on its face had a number of clear mistakes and a somewhat jejune analysis.”

“And to use that to conduct counterintelligence against an American political campaign is a strange — would be a strange development,” he added. “The answers I’m getting are not sufficient.”

This Is Where We Are

Occasionally, after explaining some of the issues presenting themselves in America today, I am asked what solutions I am offering. That’s a fair question that can only be answered by looking inward, not outward. It is a question of what one person might be willing to do to secure their own freedom.
Since it is obvious that there will be no cooperative effort, the only thing left is individual action.

In a properly functioning republic, our representatives would be offering a way out of this mess. They would be as interested in solving the Constitutional crisis we endure year after year as we are. They would be devoted to securing, by all means, the sanctity of the vote, understanding that without the security of the vote, there is no republic, none of the congressional offices mean anything, because there is no authority behind them.

In a constitutional republic, legitimacy is obtained and secured by the consent of the governed, provided by the sanctity of the vote, that each actual citizen has had a say in who their representatives are and the legislation they introduce.

What we have now is a show, a theatrical production of government, because they only actually listen to a very few of the electorate, those with the largest campaign contributions, or political power in Washington, D.C. It is no accident that thempeople who provide those large contributions are the same peoplenstanding in line for government grants and contracts. It is opencorruption, but no one is trying to solve that problem. It is notnseen as a problem.

They are not interested in solving the privacy issues surrounding the Patriot Act. They are not interested in solving the banking issues that have already caused a near collapse of the banking system and bankrupted millions of individuals. They are not interested in preventing cities and counties from passing lawsnantagonistic to federal gun laws that protect the right to keep and
bear arms.

It does not matter what the Constitution provides, secures or protects, it is irrelevant to the Congress and held in contempt by states, cities and counties, because it deserves to be held in contempt. We are past the days when mere words on paper will secure rights, or dictate the actions of government.
That all relies on patriotic representatives and far too many have gone over to the communist or socialist camp, in both parties.

So, the questions come back to the reader: What would you do if you found that you lived under a system that held theindividual in contempt; that offered no rights on which to depend; that considered your assets, retirement accounts and othermproperty as reserves of the state?

It is obvious that the state is not interested in themproblems of the taxpaying citizens, preferring the voting clout andmreliability of the tax consumers. They spend their time buildingmgovernment programs and bureaucracies to cater to the taxbconsumers. Why? Because the dependent will continue to demand more government and vote for it, giving the government the excuse to pilfer your bank accounts through taxation.

On the other hand, where is the demand for less government? Anywhere? It is a systematic problem, where Congress seeks to pass legislation as a sign of their worth, but are not pressed to pass legislation reducing legislation, regulation orntaxation. Why not? If there are the outraged, where are they? Why is there not a “Yellow Vest” protest in America?See, when people ask me for solutions, they assume that I have offered none, but I have and they have been ignored, because they require action and no one acts. This is not a condemnation of anyone, it is a statement of fact.

We are past the point of petitions, or electing the right representative, senator or president. It is just much later than that. It is to the point where the only thing that will get any attention or
reverse anything is to get out into the streets every day, as many as can be motivated to do so and make demands with the threat being the revocation of the government’s charter.

Why doesn’t this happen? Because as angry as we all are, we have jobs and house payments, kids in school, reliance on government payments of one sort or another, etc. My advice, then, is to rid oneself of these things, if possible and prepare for the Ceausescu moment, because, if you want a constitutional republic, you will now have to fight for it, literally. If you want a border, you will have to do something to establish it. If you want to purge the communists from our government, pack a lunch.

I don’t mean to be dismissive, but those are the hard truths of where we are and what will need to be done. Understand, every month it will get harder as the communists are steadily shut off the avenues of resistance. They have already been able to prevent us from freely communicating. Now, through Red Flag laws, they are coming for our arms. Next will come the roundups of “insurgents” and the
imprisoning of critics. It is a roadmap they are following, a roadmap followed before and illustrated well enough to identify.

“Spygate” Fallout? – Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conté Requests Resignation of Intelligence Officials…

Via Billy

Apparently, Italian media are reporting that Prime Minister Giuseppe Conté has requested the resignations of several top Italian intelligence officials. The move is being interpreted as the Conte’ government responding to the previous governments’ coordinated activity with U.S. intelligence officials during the 2016 U.S. election surrounding “Spygate”.

Prime Minister Conté visited with President Trump in June 2018 at the White House; and reflects a more nationalistic outlook in Italy.  Conte’ has high approval in the country; however, it appears the socialists (including media) are outraged at the challenge to the intelligence apparatus…

CYBER ATTACK

One of the people I greatly admire, Dr. Thomas Sowell, recently expressed his pessimism about rescuing America from Socialism; Thomas Sowell Is Right to Predict a Socialist America: (quote from RealClearPolitics):

I do have a great fear that, in the long run, we may not make it. I hate to say that. ... And so, we may make it, but I wouldn't bet on it. (March 6, 2019)

What We Know So Far About The Justice Department’s Spygate Scandal Investigations

Why Both The Left And The Right Should Defenestrate James Comey From Public Life

When Barr testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, he provided many clues to the wide-ranging scope of malfeasance the Department of Justice is now investigating.

Conservatives cheered the recent news that Attorney General William Barr had assigned U.S. Attorney John Durham to investigate the launch of the investigation into the Trump campaign. After his name hit the press, journalists covering the Spygate scandal quickly realized that Durham was the prosecutor investigating former FBI lawyer James Baker for potential illegal leaks.

During his October 3, 2018, testimony to the House judiciary and oversight committees, Baker testified about his long-time friendship with Mother Jones reporter David Corn. But when Rep. Jim Jordan asked whether he had spoken with Corn about any FBI investigations, and specifically the Steele dossier, Baker’s attorney shut down the questioning. Baker’s lawyer told the committee Baker would not discuss any conversations with reporters because Baker was still the subject of a criminal investigation into illegal leaks. When pushed on who was handling that investigation, Baker’s lawyer said, “John Durham.”

Dog Training: Setting a Plan for Success

When starting the foundation program for your pup, it is important to set clear expectations for what you want from your pup.  It is important to write down clear goals for what you want to achieve so you can track them. Having clearly stated goals will tell you if you need to spend extra time with your dog doing more drills to meet one of those goals, or if you need to add to your goal list.

When breaking down the stages of the Hunt Smith puppy development program, there are clear steps to follow. I found that the one factor that brought the most consistent success for my expectations was doing the same drills in many different social scenarios. This not only reinforced cues but also gave me added confidence in my handling. Working with my dog in different environments also helped me to identify the smaller details of refusal. Adding in extra distractions during training was the key to having my shorthairs’ obedience to the level where they could join me in my day-to-day routine.

Barr considering possible rule changes at DOJ in wake of Russia investigation: report

Attorney General William Barr is considering changes to Justice Department protocol because of the surveillance of U.S. citizens in the investigation of the 2016 election, remarks likely to add to the debate around President Trump's charge that his campaign was spied upon.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Barr confirmed that he was reviewing the Justice Department rules that surrounded the investigation, while offering no specifics on what changes could be on the way for the agency.

“Government power was used to spy on American citizens,” he said. “I can’t imagine any world where we wouldn’t take a look and make sure that was done properly.”

Italy "Declares War On NGOs" - Will Fine Boats For Rescuing Immigrants

It would appear that Italy's interior minister Matteo Salvini has escalated his widely-supported anti-immigrant stance, by forcing George Soros and his NGO pals to put their money where their virtue-signaling mouths are...

The Guardian's Lorenzo Tondo reports that Italy's government is planning to issue a decree that would mean NGO rescue boats would be fined up to €5,500 (£4,760) for each migrant they disembark on to Italian soil.

As a reminder, Francesca Totolo recently noted in her latest book:
