How FBI Entrapment Is Inventing 'Terrorists' - and Letting Bad Guys Off the Hook

This past October, at an Occupy encampment in Cleveland, Ohio, "suspicious males with walkie-talkies around their necks" and "scarves or towels around their heads" were heard grumbling at the protesters' unwillingness to act violently. At meetings a few months later, one of them, a 26-year-old with a black Mohawk known as "Cyco," explained to his anarchist colleagues how "you can make plastic explosives with bleach," and the group of five men fantasized about what they might blow up. Cyco suggested a small bridge. One of the others thought they’d have a better chance of not hurting people if they blew up a cargo ship. A third, however, argued for a big bridge – "Gotta slow the traffic that's going to make them money" – and won. He then led them to a connection who sold them C-4 explosives for $450. Then, the night before the May Day Occupy protests, they allegedly put the plan into motion – and just as the would-be terrorists fiddled with the detonator they hoped would blow to smithereens a scenic bridge in Ohio’s Cuyahoga Valley National Park traversed by 13,610 vehicles every day, the FBI swooped in to arrest them.

Right in the nick of time, just like in the movies. The authorities couldn’t have more effectively made the Occupy movement look like a danger to the republic if they had scripted it. Maybe that's because, more or less, they did.

The guy who convinced the plotters to blow up a big bridge, led them to the arms merchant, and drove the team to the bomb site was an FBI informant. The merchant was an FBI agent. The bomb, of course, was a dud. And the arrest was part of a pattern of entrapment by federal law enforcement since September 11, 2001, not of terrorist suspects, but of young men federal agents have had to talk into embracing violence in the first place.

Resistance S4: The Logistics of Successful Cache Plan Development

Of the four major aspects of support in military and paramilitary operations--personnel, intelligence, operations, and logistics--the fourth is often the most misunderstood by aspiring students of resistance theory and history. As the oft-cited cliche so accurately states, "Amateurs study tactics. Professionals study logistics." When Napolean famously stated that "An army travels on its stomach," he wasn't talking specifically about the quality of the food in the French military, but about the importance of ensuring that the logistics train managed to keep pace with the fighting force, in order to keep the men re-supplied and fed.

For the inexperienced, the amount of material logistics support necessary to support even a single twelve-man SF ODA over the course of a six-month long deployment can be mind-numbingly massive (plane loads, not duffel bags full). The idea that a resistance cell will grab their individual rucksacks, LBEs, and weapons, and run off to the woods to fight it out in some Red Dawn, live-off-the-land scenario is a fantasy of hubris at its best. At its worst, it's just fucking stupid.

Similarly naive however, is the typical survivalist/prepper idea that, in a totalitarian regime, ruled by the force of ninja-clad stormtroopers who kick in doors at 0300, stomp puppies to death, and jerk citizens from their beds by the hair, a stockpile of food and supplies in the pantry and basement will be adequate or secure.

The key to successful logistics support if a resistance movement is the establishment, by both individual tactical cells as well as dedicated auxiliary logistics networks, of widespread, secure, and well-equipped caches of critical supplies (for the record, it's pronounced "cash," "cashes," and "cashed," not "cashay," "cashayes," and "cashayed!"). Caching is the process of hiding equipment or other necessary logistics materials in secure storage locations with the express intent to later recover those materials for future use (hiding them without the intent of later recovery is referred to as "losing shit.") In a resistance movement, cached materials may provide numerous benefits to resistance forces. They may meet the emergency needs of personnel for items that can no longer be procured on the open or black markets, due to regime interference or lack of supply, or they may provide necessary travel documents and funds for the initiation of escape-and-evasion corridors by compromised personnel. Most critically perhaps, caching provides a realistic supply solution for long-term operations conducted over wide areas, far from secure bases of operations. In the specific words of the doctrinal literature on caching for UW, "caching can also provide for anticipated needs of war time operations in areas likely to be overrun by the enemy."

Feds Sign $20M PR Contract to Promote Obamacare

Nothing like wasting the taxpayer's money.

The federal government has signed a contract with a public relations firm to spend $20 million to promote Obamacare, a law that made be defunct in a month.

The advertising campaign will educate the public on staying healthy and preventing illness, a Health and Human Services official told The Hill.

The controversial Affordable Care Act includes provisions for the advertising blitz in the law. The contract was won by the public relations firm Porter Novelli in a competitive bidding process, according to the Hill.

The Supreme Court is expected to rule on the constitutionality of the law before its recess in June.

How to Avoid the Worst Kind of Socialization

While academic and teacher qualification objections to homeschooling are pretty much a thing of the past, the age-old question of “What about socialization?” continues to increase.

Just as we should be prepared to give an answer for the hope that is within us, we should also have an answer to the socialization question. Having answered this question in many different ways, I thought it might be smart to see what the dictionary defines as “socialization,” as it can mean many different things to folks asking the question (that’s probably why we should ask them how they define socialization before we answer).

The common theme in dictionary definitions is that the individual conforms to the beliefs and actions of a larger group.

Most people agree that socialization is essential for the development of individuals so that they can effectively function within societies and for ensuring that society’s cultural features will be carried onto the next generation. That being the case, peer socialization, especially in the teenage years, would be the worst socialization today, if we want our children to be responsible adults.

I ask you in what setting, other than school, will a person be exposed to long hours, days, months, and years with people of their same age? Only in school. So this socialization, at best, prepares a person to get along in school. At worst, it prepares him for drugs, sex, rebellion against parents, and fuzzy thinking. You don’t receive training in responsibility from peers, only from adults. Therefore, the key to positive socialization is more time with parents and other uplifting adults.

I’m not negating the need for peer interaction, but it should be controlled and monitored by the parent so that peer interaction will not counteract the training and teaching of constructive values and beliefs that you do in your home. Homeschooling gives you this opportunity.

Bill Kristol brags about purge of dissenters in GOP

Leading Neo-conservative media figure Bill Kristol recently gloated about how he and others have effectively purged from the Republican Party the Buchananites, Paulians and anyone else who isn’t for endless war on behalf of the State of Israel in the Middle East. Philip Weiss has a lengthy article describing the hubris of Kristol and the Neo-cons’ control of the GOP Establishment, especially when it comes to foreign policy and war-making decisions. Kristol is quoted in the article as saying:

And he simply left the Republican Party. I’m happier to have a Republican Party without Pat Buchanan than with Pat Buchanan.

How are Bernadine Dohrn and Bill Ayers Tied to the Anti-Nazi Group at the Center of Chicago Mob Attack?

The group that has claimed responsibility for a mob attack at a Chicago-area restaurant over the weekend is the same group that hosted former Weather Underground terrorists and Barack Obama associates Bernadine Dohrn and Bill Ayers last year, according to fliers published on the organization’s web site.

That group, as The Blaze mentioned earlier this week, is Anti-Racist Action (ARA). According to its own website and a documentary on the group, ARA formed in the 1980s under the street name “The Baldies” in the Minneapolis-St.Paul area and as anti-racist skinheads to combat neo-Nazi groups that were gaining power.

On Saturday afternoon, a group of eighteen people wearing all black stormed Ashford House, a restaurant in Tinley Park, a community in the Chicago metro area. Ten people were injured in the attack and three were placed in the hospital.

Various news outlets have reported that the group targeted in the attack was associated with Stormfront, a website popular among white nationalists and white supremacists.

Discussion threads on that website suggest that the meeting at Ashford House was a meet-and-greet for forum members. The docket for their luncheon, which was organized under an organization calling itself the Illinois European Heritage Association, suggests that their goal was “economic networking.” The coordinator of the event, later identified as Beckie Williams, said the event was not racist, while material for the gathering was meant to promote “work for whites.”
