OPSEC & Family/ Retreat Security

Precisely, my view.

Recently there have been a couple of posts by Lizard Farmer and Mountain Guerrilla that I simply felt the urge to chip in on and expand in my own direction. I noted with wry amusement the comments by LF & Mosby about not usually commenting on others posts but feeling the need to anyway - I often find a post by another sparks a thought process that turns into one of my posts.

Anyway, I enjoyed Mosby's 'Skull-Stomping Sacred Cows….Again: Unconventional Warfare and the Modern Militia Movement' which was written in defense of a post by LF that I have been unable to locate.
This is what I want to talk about: OPSEC and related comments as they occur to me.

I simply don't have any OPSEC, at least not in the way that many of you consider it. I use gmail. I blog. I don't have any fancy internet encryption. Everything I do is out there.

Why is that, you may ask? Well, firstly, I haven't got anything to be secretive about. I am completely within my rights to blog as I do, there is nothing seditious or criminal about it. I simply haven't got anything to hide. But you will tell me that the current Regime will be out to get me - but isn't that really the point - to stand up and exercise our freedom? I refuse to be scared by collectivist, statist intimidation. If someone tried to unlawfully constrain my freedom, then its time to fight. Right?

Simply put, I will not be intimidated by the thought police.

Big Brother cops crush push to impeach

 http://static.infowars.com/slideshow/082013tyranny.jpg

Thousands of Americans have participated in numerous Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment rallies across the nation over the past few weeks – and now there’s word of several arrests and police intimidation of citizens who peacefully protest on public walkways.

WND reported that Americans were staging protests on freeway overpasses and calling for Obama’s impeachment when the movement first launched.

Now, police have responded to some protest sites after reports of profanity and items being thrown from overpasses. Protester and organizer Lisa Zimmerman said none of these claims have been substantiated, and there is a concerted effort to shut the protests down. In two separate incidents, three overpass protesters have been arrested.

At a rally west of St. Louis, Mo., Mark Messmer and Duane Weed were arrested. The incident was caught on a YouTube video that’s racking up about 50,000 views per day.

As seen in the video posted online, the protesters, while standing on a public sidewalk, asked repeatedly what law they were breaking and why they were being asked to leave.

One officer can be heard saying, “I’ve been polite and asked you to leave the overpass.”

Another officer can then be heard saying, “Can you come with me? Do you recognize I am a peace officer? I’ve asked you and told you that you needed to leave.”

One protester asked, “Are we breaking a law here? What law am I breaking?”

Officer Jensen spoke up, “Failure to comply with the highway patrol. I’ve given you two chances.

Third time, I’m going to arrest you.”

I remember her last blog post. A brilliant lady, so sad.

Although it seems like a much longer time, it was only two years ago this month that black essayist and social critic Elizabeth Wright died. In 1985 Ms. Wright inaugurated her website Issues & Views to counter the racial proselytizing that was aggravating feelings of victimization and entitlement in the black community.

The masthead of her website bore the inscription: “So you still think all blacks think alike?” Elizabeth Wright’s opinions certainly didn’t conform to the way blacks were stereotyped by the establishment media. Like her mentor Booker T. Washington, Wright felt that racial conflicts were best resolved by conciliation rather than militancy. This represented quite a change from the belligerent approach used by the NAACP and other adversarial groups. Ms. Wright believed that the shrill accusations and ultimatums of these contentious groups had become counterproductive. She used her website to encourage a more pragmatic, less bellicose racial dialogue but, as we would expect, Wright’s columns were ignored by the mainstream media.

The National Security Agency illegally gathered as many as 56,000 emails and other electronic communications between Americans with no connection to terrorism as part of a collection program that was ruled unconstitutional by a secret spy court in 2011.

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court rendered its decision in an 86-page opinion on Oct. 3, 2011. It was declassified Wednesday by U.S. intelligence officials, and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper authorized the release of the opinion.

"This is not an egregious overreaching by a greedy agency seeking to spy on Americans," a senior intelligence official said. "This is a technological problem that resulted in an inadvertent collection of a relatively small number of U.S. personal communications."

In the opinion, Chief Judge John Bates found that the government had "advised the court that the volume and nature of the information it has been collecting is fundamentally different from what the court had been led to believe."
