Well she is correct about the inconsistency of some 2nd Amendment advocates.
The Bill of Rights was intended to apply to the federal government only. Incorporation did not begin until the 14th amendment was adopted.
At that point the republic of was dead.
The original idea was that states could/would compete for citizens by having different laws. As long as the state had a republican form of government, anything goes.
I have a God given natural right to use firearms to protect my life, liberty and property. The 2nd amendment recognizes that idea. The various states that I have lived in also recognizes that idea in their constitutions.
A bunch of anti-gun people are simply angry that 2nd A. types are using the system as it presently existing to defend their rights as they see them.
Legislation against inanimate objects is freaking insane. It is denial of personal responsibility.
