To commemorate the sesquicentennial of the CSS Alabama‘s loss, the 290 Foundation has entered into a provisional agreement to charter a period vessel for this unique voyage. The Brigantine, ‘Tenacious’ will depart Portsmouth to Cherbourg with lunch served. Our trip, under full sail, will include an evening with (optional) dinner and overnight accommodation on board in France.
Following our early morning departure there will be a wreath laying ceremony over the wreck of the CSS Alabama before the return voyage with lunch served as before. We intend arriving back at Southampton in late afternoon.
Space will be at a premium and we envisage accommodation for only twenty paying guests. We are advised that bookings and deposits will be due twelve months in advance (June 2013).
