Ferguson – return of the assholes

Via WRSA

Getting back online after a hiatus, and this missive has been bubbling in draft form for a couple of weeks. I’m publishing it even though some of the timeliness has worn off, especially with the Eric Garner grand jury decision, which is truly an outrage on every level.

That being said, I will make this statement unequivocally:

If my lily-white ass goes out right now punches a local constable in the face and attempts to grab his gun, I will be shot dead. I have absolutely no doubt about this outcome. Full stop. Do not pass go. Do not collect two-hundred dollars. It’s called playing a very stupid game and winning a very stupid prize.

The Virginia Flaggers: Virginia War Memorial Flag/Veterans Presentation

Several months ago, someone stopped by the Chester I-95 Memorial Battle flag site,  and asked if we would be interested in a big flag that she had received but could not use. Of course, we replied YES! When we received the flag, we were a bit surprised to find that it was a very large, like new, U.S. Flag.

We reached out to the folks at the Virginia War Memorial and found out that it was the right size for the flag that is flown in their outdoor display.  We contacted them about making a donation of the flag in memory of Sgt. Cliff Troutman, and in honor of the Veterans in our organization. They accepted our offer and agreed to open the facility to us on Tuesday evening, December 9th for the presentation.

We had the flag cleaned, courtesy of Hawthorne Cleaners in Highland Springs,  and grommets added, courtesy of Festival Flags in Richmond and arrived a little early tonight to take some photos in the shrine area.  For those of you who have never been, the Va War Memorial is a beautiful memorial, with the names of Virginia's war dead etched in glass or stone in the shrine, and an educational annex with exhibits, auditoriums, and meeting spaces.  http://www.vawarmemorial.org/VAWM/default.aspx

Christian/Newsom killer beast denied parole

 http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/32aaa7fde288726bf181d7055da59ed2bb93fcff/c=234-0-1670-1079&r=x383&c=540x380/local/-/media/WBIR/WBIR/2014/08/08/1407537316000-victim-pics.jpg

Many thanks to everyone who signed the Petition to Deny Parole to Vanessa Coleman.

After a lengthy hearing the Tennessee Parole Board voted unanimously to deny parole to Vanessa Coleman, Offender #473393. They also disallowed her from any further hearings until December 2020!

The Christian and Newsom families one a battle today in the fight for justice for Channon and Christopher. Sadly nothing can bring back their loved ones so please continue to hold them in your thoughts and prayers. Ultimately, there are no winners in a situation such as this.

Again, thank you for standing up with the families and friends of Chris and Channon. Look to hear from us again in December 2020.

Sincerely ,
Daniel Frye

On the evening of January 6, 2007, Christopher Newsom and his girlfriend Channon Christian made dinner plans and then were to go to a friend’s house to watch a movie. They would never be seen alive again. Now one of their killers is eligible for parole.

When Chris went to pick Channon up at a friend’s apartment complex, they were carjacked by multiple assailants. What followed was one of the most heinous, gruesome, and senseless crimes in Tennessee history. The couple were taken to a house in East Knoxville and held against their will where they were brutally tortured and raped for hours.

The details of their torture are so graphic and heartbreaking that I won’t go into much detail beyond this: After being tortured, Christopher Newsom was killed execution style by multiple gunshots before his attackers poured gasoline on his body and set him on fire. Channon Christian had bleach poured down her throat and on her body before being wrapped in plastic bags and placed in a garbage can in the kitchen of the house—all of this while she was still alive.  Her last minutes on earth were spent slowly suffocating in a garbage can.

The five people responsible for these heinous crimes are: Lemaricus Davidson, Letalvis Cobbins, George Thomas, Vanessa Coleman and Eric Boyd. Boyd was given 18 years and the others will likely remain behind bars for the rest of their lives but incredibly, Vanessa Coleman had her sentence reduced by a third after a retrial and is set to go before the Tennessee Board of Paroles in early December, 2014.

Vanessa Coleman went into prison with a 35 year sentence. However, due to prison overcrowding she has to serve only 30% of her sentence before being eligible for a parole hearing. In addition to her sentence being effectively reduced by 70% she has been accumulating additional time toward an early release, up to a possible 192 days per year for good behavior.

During the course of Coleman's trial evidence was presented from her diary entry dated 3 days after the murder. For her part in the torture, rape, and murders she wrote: “I’ve had one HELL OF AN ADVENTURE since I’ve been in the big TN. It’s a crazy world these days! But I love the fun adventures and lessons that I’ve learned. Its going to be a long interesting year! Ha! Ha!”

Bloomberg Poll: Heavy Public Opposition to Obama's Executive Amnesty

A new national poll of adults from Bloomberg contains bad news galore for the White House.  A few key details:

(1)
President Obama's job approval sits at just 39 percent, his personal low mark in the polling series.  He's been equally weak in other recent surveys.

(2) The GOP's approval rating is at a five-year high (45/47), although the party's image is still slightly more negative than positive.  Democrats are in worse shape, with a bare majority disapproving (41/50).

(3)
Obama struggles on every issue polled, performing best on the economy, on which his approval is still 11 points underwater.  Ed Morrissey runs through the rest of the poor marks: "[Obama's] foreign policy approval is 37/51, and health care only gets 41/55. Obama gets a 37/54 on immigration a couple of weeks after his big “I’m gonna act alone” statement.

(4) And how are Americans reacting to that executive fiat, which bypasses Congress to rewrite immigration laws?  Not well:

Understanding the Hierarchy of Groups within the Cultural Marxist Schema

Via Frank

sjw

If there is one thing that defines the thought of the cultural Marxist “Social Justice Warrior” (SJW) crowd, it is the division of people in our country into groups based on race, gender, religion (provided the religion in question is not a traditional Western faith) and sexual proclivities. The radical Left just loves doing this, for a number of reasons. Dividing people into groups allows for easier identification of who is a cultural “enemy” and who is an “ally.” It facilitates the ability of the SJWs to play group against group in their struggle to obtain political power. It also permits them to punish groups which exist outside or fall out of the cultural Marxists’ favor. As a result, “diversity” can be encouraged and monoculturalism and traditional gender norms – things necessary to the perpetuation of our culture as a successful enterprise, but which the SJWs hate – can be dismissed.

Yet, the careful observer should note that not all groups within this division of camps are equal – and I don’t just mean that straight, white Christian males are the objects of the cultural Marxist two-minute hate. Even within the constellation of SJW “preferred groups,” there is a very definite hierarchy that seems to shake out. I believe this is important, for reasons I will explore below. But first, I’d like to delve into this SJW pecking order in greater detail. To do so, let’s look at the major “groups” that the cultural Marxists divide our nation into: straight white males, non-feminist white females, Asians, blacks, Hispanics, homosexuals (by which I am collectively referring to gay males and transsexuals), feminist females, and non-black Muslims.

North Carolina’s Prescient Governor

North Carolina’s textiles industry has a proud history of service to the State as it helped clothe the men sent to resist enemy invasion. Many of the mills had been in operation since the early 1800s, and many free blacks and slaves joined white citizens to help sustain North Carolina’s war effort.

 North Carolina’s Prescient Governor

“Governor Zebulon Vance sent at least four agents to England to procure “in foreign markets” materials such as shoes, blankets, machines, and findings.  John White, a Warrenton merchant, and Thomas M. Crossan, a former ship’s captain, were the most effective. In return for North Carolina clothing its own troops, Secretary of the Treasury Christopher Memminger provided Vance with bonds that were transferred to North Carolina agents in Liverpool. Some $2.5 million was dispatched by John White in July 1863. Sales of cotton and rosin through the blockade supplemented these funds.

To bring the supplies into Wilmington, Vance purchased at Crossan’s insistence the “long-legged steamer”; the Advance made eleven round trips from Bermuda to Wilmington, bringing in “supplies of those things which could not be procured at home, especially grain scythes, card clothing for factories, hand cards for our old-fashioned looms, and medicines.”

With an eye to North Carolina factories, Vance instructed White to bring in findings, or spare parts, and “to purchase a lot of (50,000) cotton and wool cards and a machine for making them with a good supply of wire” (Dowd, 454-455).  An abstract of four cargoes brought in by the Advance in 1863 showed large quantities of factory materials: wire, belting, leather, and oils.

Before the end of that year, Vance had at Bermuda or en route there some eight or ten cargoes, including “machinery and findings to refit twenty-six of our principal cotton and woolen factories, dyestuff, lubricating oils, etc.”

Due to this success, Vance advised his agents in 1863 to buy no more English clothing, for “the resources of our State and the Confederacy have developed in such a degree that we have every assurance of being able to clothe our own troops with our own goods.” This outfitting was accomplished despite the opposition of James M. Mason, Confederate commissioner in London, who prohibited the sale of North Carolina cotton bonds.

The supplies from the Advance were sold to North Carolina factories by State quartermaster Henry A. Dowd. Henry Fries at Salem requested his share of the cargoes, [and stated:] “Without the materials,” he threatened, “I must stop part of the machinery.”  The Randolph Manufacturing Company received “a small order at the suggestion of Gov. Vance.”

Dennis Curtis, at the Deep River factory, wrote that “he (the Gov.) had now on hand a lot of card clothing and that he (Mr. Makepeace) would visit Raleigh in the course of a few days to see you in regard to purchasing clothing.”

The gradual loss of white male workers [to military service] forced the mills to turn increasingly to women, children and slaves for labor.  The absence of managers or skilled workers made the training of new workers more difficult.  The growing absence of males was notable at North Carolina’s Cedar Falls factory, which normally operated 50 looms and 2,400 spindles. Frank Fries at Salem, with a considerable wool trade, employed the services of as many as 40 slaves, half of them leased.”
