Good Interview: Performer At Las Vegas Harvest Festival Speaks Out Against Gun Control: “All of us in that moment wished we’d had a gun."

As bullets rained down on the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, many of those taking cover wished they had the means to fight back, singer Kaya Jones told Breitbart.
The former Pussycat Dolls member performed at the festival and was at a nearby bar as the tragedy began to unfold.
“All of us in that moment wished we’d had a gun,” Jones said, relaying that in a group taking refuge, only one person was armed.

Three Green Berets killed, two wounded in Niger ambush

Officials told the Associated Press that the commandos were likely attacked by Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.
The officials added that the two wounded U.S. soldiers were taken to Niamey, the capital, and are in stable condition.

country of Niger.
U.S. Africa Command confirmed that a
joint patrol of Green Berets and Nigerien soldiers was attacked in the
southwestern part of Niger, near the border with Mali. Officials told
Fox News that between eight and 10 troops were part of the patrol.
The officials added that the two wounded U.S. soldiers were taken to Niamey, the capital, and are in stable condition.

Why the European establishment hates the Second Amendment
The European political establishment hates the Second Amendment for its ultimate repudiation of big government.
To understand the European viewpoint, consider the debate on Britain's Sky News channel, Tuesday evening, between liberal columnist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown and libertarian editor Brendan O'Neill.
As O'Neill calmly outlined why gun ownership represents positive individual freedom, Alibhai-Brown quickly lost her cool, "That is not a moral position!" she shouted, adding that the Second Amendment was designed for a time "When [Americans] were massacring Native Americans ... hundreds of thousands of people were being killed." The journalist, who was "really depressed" when Bin Laden was killed, then delivered her punch line, "Change your mind, you'll still be a man."
Sorry, Yasmin, but 19th century Native American history is more complicated than genocide, and penis size has nothing to do with gun ownership. (Indeed, that's an insult to the tens of thousands of British vacationers who see gun ranges as required stops!)

Arpaio’s Pardon From Trump to Stand After Court Challenge
Former Maricopa County, Ariz sheriff Joe Arpaio's pardon from President Donald Trump will stand Tuesday after a brief challenge in court.
The challenge was declined by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton, the same judge who had initially found Arpaio guilty of contempt of court, the Associated Press reports. Much of Bolton's 14 page ruling on Wednesday was focused on why she found Arpaio guilty in the first place.
Arpaio was pardoned in August by Trump for his federal conviction for ignoring a judge's order to halt a controversial program aimed at curbing illegal immigration. Arpaio was a strong supporter of Trump's 2016 campaign, and was known as the "toughest sheriff in America."
"I have concluded the pardon is valid," Bolton wrote.

A judge in Charlottesville ruled Wednesday that a state law protecting war memorials could apply retroactively to the city’s statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, according to the Richmond Times Dispatch.
But Judge Richard Moore said he wanted more proof that the statue qualifies as a war memorial, the newspaper reported. His decision clears the way for a lawsuit asking to bar the statue’s removal, and the groups suing now have 21 days to present a stronger case.

The House Homeland Security Committee passed legislation Wednesday that would provide $10 billion toward President Trump's wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, a step toward possible consideration on the House floor.
The committee passed Wednesday afternoon in a party-line vote, after dismissing all Democratic amendments.
The committee vote is a significant step toward implementing President Trump's goal of building a border wall, which otherwise has been stalled. Trump himself agreed to delay money for the wall last month in order to quickly resolve a fight over raising the debt ceiling and extending federal spending for the first few months of the new fiscal year.

That mystery has finally been solved, with the help of the The Baupost Group, who unmasked themselves to The Intercept. The Baupost Group, a Boston-based hedge fund managed by billionaire Seth Klarman, owns nearly a billion dollars of Puerto Rican debt, purchased under a shell company subsidiary and hidden from public scrutiny. Baupost acquired the debt through an on-paper Delaware-based corporation named Decagon Holdings LLC, whose beneficial owner had been unknown until now.
