America is entering its very own Mao-like Cultural Revolution. The iconoclasm of the left’s culture war isn’t a side effect, it’s the point.

Dr. Seuss has been cancelled. Some of his work has been deemed racist, and we can’t have that. On Tuesday, the entity that oversees the estate of Theodor Seuss Geisel announced it would no longer publish six of Geisel’s books because they “portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong.”

Among the works now deemed unfit for children are Geisel’s first book under the pen name Dr. Seuss, “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,” published in 1937, and the much-beloved, “If I Ran the Zoo,” published in 1950. The former depicts a “Chinaman” character and the latter shows two men from “the African island of Yerka” in native garb.

SAIGON 1902

 

 Long before Saigon became a maelstrom of motorbikes zipping past bubble tea shops, convenience stores, and cellphone sellers, it was a sleepy town where sampan boats cluttered placid canals, locals snoozed under thatched roofs and colonizers had begun to roam around wearing pith helmets and pleated pants.

It's not to say things were necessarily better in Saigon approximately 120 years ago - penicillin hadn't been invented yet and the French were constantly trying to squeeze the poor nation of all it had, resource by resource, after all. Yet, the plentitude of trees and a pace of life that moved as fast as a backwater branch of the Saigon River seems like it would be a nice addition to the metropolis' modern-day manifestation. 

Except for the elephants in the Zoo and Botanical Garden, these photos from 1902 taken by an unidentified photographer allow one to glimpse a city that bears almost no resemblance to the Saigon of today. The rapidity of change is astounding.

"John,Sharon and I all have COVID.I wish to thank the SCDOC for waiting a year into the pandemic to ever test the officers.after all if they tested positive how could they ever staff,the COs have had mandatory OT to help cover other shifts for the past year.N95 masks,faceshields,gowns.temp checks did nothing to stop the spread.when it’s in the institution in theinmate population. 

 

COs are second tier to get a vaccine.so not yet,they have called john every two days to see when he will be able to return to work..DHEC never contacted us about contact tracing...so when you see them promoting it,it’s a lie but they talk a good game.if I sound angry,I am.yes I have gone out but I was constantly washing my hands..with soap,not just hand sanitizer.and all the other suggestions.John had been staying in the other bedroom for months because of him working with covid positive persons.we have sat down to dinner together maybe twice in the past six months.and none of them in the last two weeks.

 

Right now we just feel awful,no energy,nausea is bad but our pulse ox is staying normal.I have contacted a doctor about getting ivermectin rx. As many know Sharon and I are high risk,john does have high blood pressure ,we sure could use some prayers.that we turn the corner soon and start on the mend.we are taking extra vitamin D3,C,and zinc.but none of us have been able to eat much.I haven’t even cooked.canned chicken and rice soup,bone broth w turmeric and ginger,has been about it,john is drinking boost.and Powerade to help stay hydrated."

Alabama to Join Texas, Mississippi, Florida, Others in Eliminating Mask Mandates this Week

 

Alabama will become one of the next states to eliminate a government-imposed mandate that requires people wear masks in public, sources close to the matter told Breitbart News.

A source familiar with state deliberations confirmed that as soon as Friday but definitely in the coming days. Alabama will join several other states nationwide in removing its mandate requiring masks in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

GOP Gov. Kay Ivey’s office has not yet confirmed what sources familiar with the state’s planning and deliberations are, but a spokeswoman for Ivey told Breitbart News she was never a fan of mandates to begin with—a sign of the coming move.

“All along, Governor Ivey has made clear that she prefers personal responsibility to government mandates. We are optimistic that our state is heading in the right direction, and we still have some work to be done. Governor Ivey will provide an update to the people of Alabama soon,” an Ivey spokeswoman said.

In one of the more astonishing sentences ever written in a major newspaper, The Times reported, "The story highlights the tensions between a student's deeply felt sense of personal truth and facts that are at odds with it.This is the society we now inhabit: a society in which a "deeply felt sense of personal truth" must be weighed against "the facts." And typically, our society dismisses "the facts."

This week, The New York Times ran a long piece re-reporting a supposed race scandal from Smith College. The scandal, originally reported in midsummer 2018, featured a black student, Oumou Kanoute, who claimed that she was racially profiled while eating in a dormitory lounge. She suggested in a Facebook post that she was confronted by a campus police officer, who might have been carrying a "lethal weapon," and a janitor, adding: "All I did was be Black. It's outrageous that some people question my being at Smith College, and my existence overall as a woman of color."

The janitor was placed on paid leave. The college president issued a campuswide statement explaining, "This painful incident reminds us of the ongoing legacy of racism and bias in which people of color are targeted while simply going about the business of their ordinary lives."

The incident was reported by establishment media outlets far and wide.

There was only one problem: It was a lie.

Ruling: Millions of AZ ballots can undergo audit

 

In what's likely to be good news for those concerned about election integrity, a judge in Arizona has ruled that the State Senate has the right to audit more than two-million ballots from the 2020 presidential election.

Maricopa County Superior Court judge Timothy Thomason ruled on Friday that subpoenas issued by the Arizona Senate are legal and enforceable, so the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors must provide the Senate with the 2.1-million ballots as well as access to election machines in order to conduct an audit of the results. Thomason ruled that the Senate has the constitutional authority to oversee elections. Lawmakers are concerned about the integrity of the voting system in the wake of allegations of election fraud in Arizona and at least five other states.

"We finally are going to get our hands on the real ballots in an election – and that's really important news," says Tom Zawistowski, president of the tea party-affiliated We the People Convention.
