What day is the TCCC course being given?

Brock Townsend August 8, 2012 2:57 PM
Saturday afternoon. I'll move your comment over to the update post for info and thanks.
$$ Incoming, Arrival schedule permitting.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteReceived from the De Gerolamos'/CADD Graphics and I thank you.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to making the trip again, if there's still room toss me in the TCCC class, gotta keep that learning curve moving. I'll get the funds out asap.
ReplyDeleteSee ya there.
Don
Chuck Brant attending from Friday to Sunday, signed up for the TCCC and paid.
ReplyDeleteWe may have a few brand, new III Prototype 1911s on hand, courtesy of Sam.
ReplyDeleteBrock
ReplyDeleteJames and I would like to take the TCCC class depending on when it is. We have to be back in Murphy Sunday night for work Monday AM.
I will send you $ for the two of us by mail today.
Dr Dan
Brock, just got the notice to send payment. Sending today...please add me to TCCC course. You still have places to camp at your property?
ReplyDeleteJack J.
Y'all better sign up or you'll miss a good show!:)
ReplyDelete=========
Good morning, Brock
(1) apologies, I did not view your 6 Aug post asking for the $20 checks ... mine will be in the mail by tomorrow
(2) with regard to the shortwave communications ... I am not preparing a formal presentation ... my contribution is a 'show and tell' for those interested
David and Chuck Ayers will help me set up a fiberglass antenna mast near a "booth" in the car-park area (so I can steal power from my vehicle for the equipment)
Plans at the moment are to use a small camping canopy and folding table to exhibit and possibly demonstrate some of the following
HF station for long distance communications ... SSB voice, CW morse code and WL2K radio email
VHF/UHF FM mobile station for metro area comms ... voice only ... direct and via 'repeaters'
I have just started to package equipment and design / construct transportable antenna gear (all of my equipment is currently set up as a 'base station') ... will confirm details as I test things
(3) David or Chuck may have an existing presentation on emergency radio preparation ... I'm copying them as a prompt :>)
Chuck indicated he could bring a variety of VHF/UHF FM hand-held equipment of various for tactical / local comms to add to the demo table... FRS, GRMS, et al
(4) I plan to make a day-trip to Tarboro on Saturday, like last time ... hope to arrive early and stay late (with no SNAFU like last time)
Hope this info is helpful.
Best Regards,
Hans
=========
Brock/David/Hans,
I can provide an HF rig + SCS Modem + Laptop to operate the WinLink/Pactor station, if wanted -
I have an MFJ collapsible pole of ~30ft. height that can support an antenna for whatever HF we set up.
Also planning to bring Woxoun and Motorola-GMRS portables to demo.
I don't presently have a suitably short presentation on communications - my combined HF/VHF "Intro" presentation runs 2-3 hours depending on attendance and questions, as David and Hans can attest to. I could prepare two ~15 or 20 minute quickie overviews - one each for HF/Shortwave and VHF/Portable operations, but these will be really thin on details due to such a time constraint.
I also missed the request to send $$. Apologies - will get this out to you ASAP, Brock.
I would plan to car-pool with Hans so as to save fuel costs.
Regards,
Chuck
=========
If anyone agrees, I will do a quick overview of the licensing procedures, review the setup for the radios at the PatCon and then stress the importance of communications. Let me know.
David
Hey Brock! I'll have check in the mail this evening.
ReplyDeleteOn the TCCC course, if the instructor needs patients/bad guys/ general assistance let me know. I'd be glad to help out.
Thanks, Matt.
ReplyDeletePlease sign James and me up for that (TCCC) and tell me how much to send to pay for it.
ReplyDeleteI will send out three checks Thursday AM when the bookkeeper comes in:
$20 each for James Clark and for me
$100 from Dr Dan's Freedom Forum to sponsor the PATCON
Whatever I need for the TCCC course

So far, the only people who have sent in checks and requested the TCCC class are Chuck Brant, Brent and Michael. Don, Dr. Dan, James and Jack J have requested the class, but I have not received the money yet though expect to shortly. That is 7 so far unless I am missing something, so that should mean 7 spaces left.
Brock,
ReplyDeletePlease add my name to the TCCC

As soon as I get your check man, I shall do so, since that was the way it was written. Look forward to seeing you again. Hopefully the weather will be better.:)

"At the moment, for those interested, everything looks to be on schedule for having the prototypes at Brock's PatCom in early October. I'm not sure if I will be free, but Jim has very kindly agreed to escort the prototypes to NC and let everyone check our work. One of our Founders has a training weekend just before Brock's gig, and if we have a prototype ready, we'll get one to him for that in PA. We'll have to then work out the rest of the T&E schedule."
I'll send the deposit and make it more possible.

Brock,
ReplyDeleteI would like to attend the TCCC class. I put the check in the mail today.

ReplyDeleteHorace Smith, a proud Tar Heel in Colorado exile paid and should win the prize for the longest traveling Patriot attending except we don't have one!:) I'll chip in a case of beer. Anyone else?
ReplyDeleteAs usual I am confused. Is the PATCON to be held at Cape Carteret or some other place? Seeing a Vertigo doctor Thursday. May be significantly less dizzy soon. Smiley Face.
DeleteThe PATCON will be held outside Tarboro, but I live in Cape Carteret most of the time. Good luck with the doctor.

ReplyDeleteThe people who have sent in checks and requested the TCCC class are Chuck Brant, Brent, Michael,Jack J., Dr. Dan, James Clark and Tony Fister. Eric and Don have requested the class, but I have not received their money yet. That should be 9 so far, but I am going to make it 11 by adding the two of us in case of an error, which would mean 3 spaces left for the TCCC class.
========
Add Horace Smith plus Linda and Philip Bienvenue which brings us to 16 paid plus the two of us leaving 27 more to go.
I have talked to multiple people who have committed to come but have not sent in their money yet. The $20 fee will cover the cost of equipment, table and chair rentals, lunch and tip. The money from sponsors (committed or collected) will offset the cost of 10.5 people. There are three more openings left for the TCCC class. Remember to include your request to attend this class with your check. Any requests received after the class is filled will be added to a wait list.
ReplyDeleteThe $20 fee will cover the cost of equipment, table and chair rentals, lunch and tip.

M.O. goes out today for Tom Green, Ethan Albright, Jamie Myrick and me. There may be more coming, but I told them to be sure to send you the money, if they do. I'll post on the website after I mail it.

========
Eric had requested the TCCC, so once I receive his remittance there will be only two more spaces left. Also, this will be a total of 22 paid including us leaving 23 more to go excluding the sponsor's money.
Received money order for Tom Green, Ethan Albright, Jamie Myrick and Eric.
ReplyDelete========
Eric requested the TCCC, so that will leave only two spaces left. This will be a total of 22 paid including us leaving 23 more to go excluding the sponsor's money.

Received $50 from Terry in Florida who says that he still isn't sure if the two of them can come, but wanted to help out as a sponsor if not. This will be a total 24 including us which leaves 21 more to go excluding the sponsor's money since I'm counting Terry as coming as of now and hopefully not to be changed to a sponsor.:)
Philip Law says the money is in the mail which should equal 23 paid with 22 more to go excluding sponsor's money. He requested the TCCC which would leave one space left, once received. Sponsor's money equals about 8 more paid which would be 31 paid with 14 to go.
ReplyDeleteReceived money from Philip Law which equals 23 paid with 22 more to go excluding sponsor's money. He requested the TCCC which leaves one space left. Sponsor's money equals about 8 more paid which would be 31 paid with 14 to go
DeleteCousin John is sending in a check tomorrow for two, so S/B 25 paid with 20 more to go. Sponsor's money equals 8 more paid, so S/B 33 paid with 12 more to go with more than a month left!
ReplyDeleteUpdate:
ReplyDeleteWe should have 26 paid (Including the 2 of us) with 19 more to go when Cousin John's letter comes in. See below. Any errors, please let me know.

Brock,
ReplyDeleteI may have an opening in my schedule for that weekend. I will know within 2 days. What is the deadline on attending? Also I need to know if this is a Militia friendly gathering? (ie: uniforms and sidearms accepted) I may attend with my wife and a small PSD. If you feel the uniform or open carry will make folks nervous, I am still willing to attend in plain clothes. (since NC honors our ccw)
Reply when able, thanks.
Montani Semper Liberi
Sandman I do not intend to speak for Brock as the meeting is on his property but a a lot of those who attended the first PATCON open carried their sidearms while others carried concealed, It was not only acceptable to carry open or concealed but encouraged if one is comfortable doing so.
ReplyDeletePlease remit NLT October the first.
DeleteCertainly. No one showed up in uniform last time, but many opened carried and CCW. Hope y'all can make it!
Well crap. I had reservations already, at a hotel closer to you, and you go and change the location....sigh....
ReplyDeleteComputer....search hotels near Tarboro....
The PATCON will be held at94 Roberson School Rd Tarboro, NC 27886
DeleteI'm sorry and camping is available. If you want to stay at a hotel, there is a Best Western that we use for our yearly family reunion. The Main Street Inn is a nice B&B which we have used for lunch before at one of our reunions also.
No big deal. I either didn't see the location previously, or had my head up 'there'. Reservations redone, and at the BW. Tent stays in the truck...just in case.
DeleteI didn't have it up at first and did you send in for one or two?
DeleteJust one. No one has a clue if I'm +1, +2...just +0 is guaranteed. Sent in for 1....and that's what I'm bringing.
DeleteThanks.
DeleteJonathan Bouren, A.H. Zucker, Israel Barkley and friend sent in fees and thanks.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, the deadline for fees is October the first, so that we can arrange everything necessary. Anyyone who has sent in money should check the latest update above and make sure your name is on it. Thanks.
Funds received from William B. Gentry and I thank you.

Only sent one check, Sir. When it became apparent that the female in my life didn't know what she was doing, I knew she wasn't coming. I'll send you one for the fun of it, if you really needed another ;-) Would a door prize/ gift certificate for a Millerized camo job suffice in lieu of another $20?

or cash I guess...
David has the credentials to buy and sell in NC, so he could tell you the particulars, but as far as I know, if you are a NC resident, you can sell a long gun face to face to another NC resident only. There was talk of making this a gun show, but I was told there would definitely be one uninvited person coming if I did that, so since I wasn't interested in such, I declined to do so. This will not be a gun show and there will be nothing illegal at this address nor will there be anything illegal done here. The III Arms that will be brought here are for perusal only. The winner of the shotgun will have it transferred to them from David legally.
ReplyDeleteCopy that sir. All above board 100%

Sorry brothers, I'm being called to be in Egypt during this event.
ReplyDeleteI had no control over the dates of our Baptist Global Medical Resonse Team was leaving.
Hope everyone has a great time, several folks from our Chatham County KTM and my wife will be attending though.
Have a good one and please keep our team in your prayers, were not the most popular folks in Cairo these days.
Best,
Randy Dye III
Randy:
DeleteI don't have your wife on the list above unless there is some mistake.
Brock;
DeleteUse my friend as a spare for Gina if need be, it is just myself, sir.
Thanks
VETTOM
OK, since you have paid for your friend who evidently isn't coming, you will give her the slot and she would reimburse you the $20 at the PATCON, correct?
DeleteJohn and Jill Ainsworth will be attending.
