Vigilance And A Duty To Protect

 Michael Savage was right.

Liberalism and progressivism is a mental disorder.

The gore had not even started to coagulate in Connecticut, and every Commie-lib from President O’Vomit on down gnashed their collective teeth and wailed about new gun restrictions and “doing everything possible to prevent such evil from happening again.”

US pulls war fleet from Syrian water. Ahmadinejad cancels Turkey visit

Via Cousin John
Goodie, goodie.

Patriot missile destined for Turkey

Shortly before the deployment of two American Patriot missiles manned by 400 US servicemen for defending Turkey against Syria was announced Thursday, Dec. 13, Washington quietly recalled from Syrian waters the USS Eisenhower aircraft carrier and its strike group and the USS Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready group and the 2,000 Marines on their decks.

This US fleet, now on its way to home base, stayed opposite the Syrian coast from the third week of November ready to take part in direct US intervention in the Syrian conflict.

Now that the American warships are gone, Russia’s Black Sea Fleet task force, which docked at the Syrian port of Tartus on Dec. 5, is the only war fleet remaining around the Syrian coast. According to debkafile’s intelligence sources, the Russian ships came to deliver a large consignment of arms for Bashar Assad’s army, although Russian sources claimed the vessels put into port for minor repairs and refueling.

US naval, air and marine forces pulled back from the eastern Mediterranean, to be replaced American-manned Patriot missile interceptors just as Syria became engulfed in another peak wave of violence. This deeply perturbs Syria’s neighbors, Turkey, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Israel. They all fear Assad’s Scud missiles fitted with chemical warheads are pointed at them, no less than rebel forces, and he will have no qualms about shooting or dropping them against any of those neighbors if he becomes desperate. Their intelligence agencies believe the Syrian ruler is just as likely to direct chemical weapons against US military facilities on their soil.

Although the five governments are not openly criticizing the Obama administration, a senior Turkish officer in Ankara said to debkafile’s sources that America’s action in removing its naval forces from the eastern Mediterranean is “hard to understand and unacceptable to Ankara.”

"If you're out walking, we're going to stop you, ask why you're out walking, check for your ID."

Via Knuckledraggin' My Life Away

Must be a reprint from Berlin or Moscow circa 1941............

In response to a recent increase in crime, Paragould Mayor Mike Gaskill and Police Chief Todd Stovall offered residents at a town hall meeting Thursday night at West View Baptist Church what could be considered an extreme solution — armed officers patrolling the streets on foot.

Stovall told the group of almost 40 residents that beginning in 2013, the department would deploy a new street crimes unit to high crime areas on foot to take back the streets.

"[Police are] going to be in SWAT gear and have AR-15s around their neck," Stovall said. "If you're out walking, we're going to stop you, ask why you're out walking, check for your ID."

Stovall said while some people may be offended by the actions of his department, they should not be.

"We're going to do it to everybody," he said. "Criminals don't like being talked to."

Gaskill backed Stovall's proposed actions during Thursday's town hall.

"They may not be doing anything but walking their dog," he said. "But they're going to have to prove it."

Did paranoid, gun-crazed mother trigger son's school killing spree? Friends say she believed world was on edge of collapse

The mother of the loner who massacred 26 pupils and staff at a US primary school may have played a major part in his catastrophic mental breakdown, it emerged last night.

Friends and family portrayed Adam Lanza's mother Nancy as a paranoid 'survivalist' who believed the world was on the verge of violent, economic collapse.

She is reported to have been struggling to hold herself together and had been stockpiling food, water and guns in the large home she shared with her 20-year-old son in Connecticut.

Mrs Lanza, 52, was a 'prepper' - so called because they are preparing for a breakdown in civilised society - who apparently became obsessed with guns and taught Adam and his older brother, Ryan, how to shoot, even taking them to local ranges .

That backfired horrifically on Friday when Adam Lanza began his killing spree by shooting his mother dead in bed.

Oy. This is not gonna go well.

Some of those behaviors that were 'strange' or 'suspicious'? They're SOP around here. We never let people who aren't close friends into the house. We don't let people know where we live. We stockpile all sortsa goodies. And yet ... we haven't shot up a school.

You watch .... the survivalist / preparedness community, such as it is, is going to go from being regarded as that odd-but-harmless-cousin you shake your head about, to being regarded as a ticking timebomb.

For giggles, I went to a local gun shop Friday just to see if the panic buying had hit. Yup ... mags were moving briskly and there were several people filling out the forms to pick up their new AKs. Ammo was walking out the door too.

I'm not going to say it's a conspiracy, but lets look at this broadly: Obama gets re-elected, Fast N Furious spotlight those evil black guns, throw in a couple mass shootings, toss in some end-of-the-world drama, get out the usual pot-stirrers like Schumer, and you've got a recipe for something ungood coming down the pike shortly regarding your firearms. Magazine ban? Certainly thats the easiest thing to do since it doesn't fly in the face of any Second Amendment issues. Bring back the AW ban? Maybe.

Regardless, I'm hoping this hits the end of the news cycle in about a week and we get back to our regular doom-n-gloom, but this story may have legs and wind up being the casus belli that this administration has been needing in order to 'do something' about the 'easy access' to 'military style weapons that have no place on our streets'.

Communist China Calls for Obama to Engage in “Protracted War” for Gun Control

You can see their point. It’ll be a lot easier for the People’s Liberation Army to do their debt collecting if there aren’t a few hundred million guns out there.
The state news agency in China, the official voice of the government, has called for the United States to quickly adopt stricter gun controls in the aftermath of the shooting rampage in Connecticut that left 28 people dead, including 20 schoolchildren.
“Their blood and tears demand no delay for U.S. gun control,” said the news agency, Xinhua.
Right. China’s Communist Party cares about their blood and tears almost as much as Obama does.
Every time a tragedy occurs, there are renewed appeals for gun regulation. However, the calls disappointingly always fail.
Regulation of private gun ownership has been a sensitive issue in the U.S. for a long time. Americans own 280 million guns, with 34 percent of U.S. families possessing the deadly weapon. Gun lobbies, such as the National Rifle Association (NRA), are very influencial.
Many people can’t help but turn to the dim hope once again: the gunman’s cruelty and evil may provide a strong momentum and broader public support for the restart of gun control efforts. Moreover, with no re-election pressure, President Obama is currently in the best position to promote it.
Obama said of the latest tragedy the country had “been through this too many times,” and it was time to put aside political differences and “take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this.”
Some people have noticed Obama’s tougher tone this time, compared to the Colorado shooting, when he called for “prayer and reflection.”
Action speaks louder than words. If Obama wants to take practical measures to control guns, he has to make preparation for a protracted war and considerable political cost.
There you go Barry. You’ve gotten your marching orders from your Chinese Bankers for your Long March through the Bill of Rights.

Lewis Grizzard on Living Our Own Lives:

“How many times has it been said to me, “God has something left for you to do, or he wouldn’t have spared you.” Or, “God doesn’t hand over miracles that easily. Take care of the one he gave you?” Or, “You’ve got a second chance. Don’t blow it.”

To be honest, I’ve been feeling some pressure about this. If my Methodist Lord hadn’t been listening, all those prayers wouldn’t have mattered. I know that for a fact. A fact. I’m now looking for a church that sings the old songs.

Am I thankful to still be alive? I’ll be looking down on Sanford Stadium grass this football season instead of being spread on top of it. You bet I’m thankful.

Will you change your lifestyle Lewis? One side of me says to answer that, “Not only no, but hell no.” That’s because I am so sick of the Lifestyle Police, the Cigarette Patrol, and the Whiskey Nazis. What’s going on in this country? They’ll be shooting smokers on the streets before it’s all over. In seven thousand restaurants in Los Angeles, you can’t smoke anymore. Half the people in this country think we ought to legalize cocaine so we can get tax money for it. Half those people also would be for gouging out the eyes of smokers.

If somebody doesn’t want you to smoke in his house, that is certainly his right. But I was watching television, and some do-gooder wanted people with children to stop smoking in their own houses because of secondhand smoke. And it won’t be long before some kid sues his parents because they smoked when he or she was growing up. I don’t want to make anybody else uncomfortable. I don’t want to give anybody else cancer. But enough is enough.

And the booze. My reputation as a drinker far outstretched my actual drinking. I couldn’t stay awake long enough to drink as much as I once did. But, “There are more old drunks than there are old doctors,” Willie Nelson once sang.

You smoke, you die. You drink, you die. You eat all that greasy food, you die. You don’t jog, you don’t aerobics, you die. So one night you are sitting in your living room reading Health and Prevention magazine, and radon gas comes in, goes right up your butt, and kills you. Ha!

I am about to say that what I put in my body has nothing whatsoever to do with my health, but I suddenly am surrounded by a world of health experts, and it gets tiresome. “You’re eating a greasy cheeseburger, a man in your condition!” Deliver me.

We’d all be a lot happier if we lived our own lives and allowed the son of a bitch down the street to live his. I just can’t put it any more simply or directly than that. I’m still eating whatever I want, and onions still give me indigestion. I am trying to get off the cigarettes. It is not easy. I have not had an ounce of vodka since March 21, *1993. So there.”

Request concerning the Battle of New Berne land

33rd NC Battle Flag
The 26th NC recently completed the fund-raising for its seventh such banner and, has begun work on its next preservation project, a state flag of the 33rd Regiment North Carolina Troops. This flag, an early war wool bunting state flag, was captured along with the Regimental Commander and 150 of his men at the Battle of New Bern on March 14, 1862. It was returned to the State of North Carolina and the Hall of History on October 14, 1917.
As a member of the Civil War Trust ( I have been working over the last week to save land that the Battle of New Berne was fought over on March 14th, 1862. The New Berne Historical Society has saved roughly around 26 Acres over the last decade and has restored that land into a park for the New Berne Battlefield. There is more land though that is of great importance and is in danger of being developed into a Hyundai dealership within the next few months.
I am asking anyone with the time and interest to please call the Civil War Trust and talk to Tom Gilmore who is in charge of the Real Estate for the Civil War Trust. I have already began talking and working with Tom on getting the details to him on the tract of land in which is in danger. Once this tract can be saved I am planning to work with the Civil War Trust, New Bern Historical Society, and our community on preserving the remaining Confederate Entrenchments from the Battle of New Berne. Please send this message to anyone you know of interest in Battlefield Preservation. Thanks.
Most Respectfully,

Arm Teachers To Save Our Children, Now

Via Terry

I am sure that all of you are as shocked and saddened as I am by the mass murders of little children and their teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School. It is very difficult to read about this tragedy and the precious young lives that were lost. It is one of those events that stops the whole nation and causes them to mourn the dead yet appreciate the beauty and fragility of life at the same instant.
It is difficult to accept that this is the reality of America. Mass murders are becoming a way of our life. Seemingly one event inspires others to commit further brutal acts. We think that violence on this scale is something that happens elsewhere, yet it happens here with regularity.

We need to protect our children.

Already there are calls for gun control, more intervention with the mentally ill, and greater safety at our schools.

Gun control or gun prohibition will not happen in America. Guns are too prevalent and there is the Second Amendment right to bear arms. (You can argue against the purpose of the Second Amendment, but the Courts have upheld citizens' right to own guns: accept this fact.) Americans won't stand for prohibition anyway. It's a part of our national fabric. And we all know, despite the trite saying, and despite bans on firearms (see New York City), criminals will get guns. It is impossible to keep guns out of the hands of someone who wants one. Thus, bans on assault rifles, for example, won't put a dent in the problem (the shooter at Sandy Hook also has two handguns. Accept the fact that there are guns out there and they are here to stay.

Intervention with mentally disturbed people is an even more difficult task. Would Americans allow a law that permits the detention and treatment of people who haven't committed crimes? There are too many stories of Soviet and Chinese tyrants using such a law to arrest enemies of the state. I was listening to a criminologist who has studied the common factors that these disturbed mass killers have and he said it's easy to add up the symptoms after the fact, but there could be a million people who have similar symptoms who don't go on killing sprees. Accept the fact that functional but mentally disturbed people will get guns and we have no power to stop them. I am not advocating that dangerous maniacs have guns; I am simply pointing out the reality of the situation.

School safety? The killer in the Sandy Hook event broke the door open to get in. It was admirable to hear how the teachers handled this crisis. They were scared but calm and did everything right, carrying out well rehearsed safety plans. Yet 2o children and 6 adults were killed. Would a guard at the door have prevented this? Is one guard enough? My thinking is that this guy would have shot the guard at the beginning of his spree. Forget about metal detectors; he wasn't asking to be let in. And what about safety in other public places, such as the Clackamas shopping center in Oregon, or the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, or a large campus like Virginia Tech. Can you have enough guards? Is total protection feasible much less affordable?

There is no easy answer to this problem. But I suggest two things.

1. All schools should have a video monitoring system with a designated person on campus to monitor it. Can all schools afford this? To protect our children, I would pay whatever it cost for my district. I know that some schools already have such a system installed. But do they have a designated monitor? With well placed video monitors at least staff would have an idea what was happening in such an event and could respond better. The principal of Sandy Hook, Dawn Hochsprun, and the school psychologist, Mary Joy Sherlach, bravely ran toward the shooter when they heard shots and sadly they were killed. Perhaps a control center and a defensive plan would have helped save their lives.

2. Arm some teachers and staff members so they can protect themselves and our children. I know this will get a big reaction from those against firearms, but think it through in light of the reality of the issues that I have outlined. It is not possible to prevent these tragic shootings before they happen, so sh0uld we leave our children unprotected while some maniac walks around and shoots them at will?
I am not talking about handing out pistols at random. Teachers and staff members must volunteer to be in such a program. They must be trained extensively in the use of handguns and be given instructions on how to handle panic situations. This type of training is given to police officers. Police departments could give such instruction and certify that those who pass the course are capable of defending themselves and our children. Annual certification should be required. Weapons should be kept in a gun safe in classrooms with the key in the teacher's physical possession. Supervisory staff would keep them in their offices and some would carry them at all times. Skeptics will say that poor little Miss Smith is not capable of such responsibility, but I disagree after hearing interviews of the brave teachers who protected their students at Sandy Hook: they were willing to risk their lives to save their children. Some gave their lives in doing so.

So what would happen in such an event where teachers and staff are armed? If they act according to their training they will kill or subdue the gunman. They could also be killed or injured, but is their slaughter and the slaughter of children more preferable? I am not suggesting that teachers go Rambo, but with proper training they should act according to a defensive plan that will protect their students. They should fire their weapon as a last resort. If they act with a calm head they will save lives. I am not saying this is a panacea for such a complex problem, but until someone figures out something better we need to protect our children, now.

NB. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a gun enthusiast. I don't hunt or spend my spare time cleaning my arsenal.

‘Criminal Monsters’ Will Not Be Deterred By Gun Free Zone Laws

As pressure mounts for lawmakers to tighten gun laws in the wake of the Connecticut school massacre, conservative rocker and Second Amendment advocate Ted Nugent tells Newsmax that “evil criminal monsters will never be deterred by the insanity of gun free zone laws.”

In an exclusive interview, Nugent insists that so-called gun free zones only empower potential killers such as Adam Lanza, who took the lives of 20 first graders on Friday when he opened fire at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

“Indisputable statistics show clearly that gun free zones around the globe are always where the most innocent human lives are slaughtered,” insists Nugent, who is on the board of the National Rifle Association.

“The document genocide in Rwanda, Sudan, Germany, Norway, Scotland, England, Canada, North and South Korea and elsewhere prove them wrong again and concludes that people everywhere forced into unarmed helplessness will always be victims of violent crime.”

Nugent, who is a Newsmax contributor, said that two million Americans defend themselves with privately owned firearms every year and he pointed to another school incident where the principal halted a similar disaster by retrieving his handgun from a vehicle.

“Unarmed and helpless is unarmed and helpless,” Nugent insisted. “That so much of our society is entrenched in the irresponsible mindset that unarmed and helpless is an okay condition is inviting such multiple shooting tragedies.”

Nugent said that he dreams of a society where “political correctness and the sheep like behavior that goes with it are discarded” and he drew comparisons to the 9/11 attacks, which called attention to the need for greater air travel security.

“Surely there must be teachers somewhere, like professional pilots after 9-11, that would be willing to be armed, trained and prepared to protect innocent children in their care,” he said.

Nugent added that most mass shootings occur in jurisdictions with “extreme restrictions” on firearms.

“But most telling, again, is the fact that they have all occurred in gun free zones or where for many reasons, no one was armed or prepared to stop the evil doer,” Nugent said.

A Startling Fact & Gigantic ‘Coincidence’ About Friday’s Mass Shooting in Connecticut

Via Horace Smith

Regarding the absolutely horrific and incomprehensible mass murders at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Friday; Our hearts and prayers go out to the families. As a parent myself, I’m not sure how one survives the unbearable trauma of losing a child.

We will keep a close eye on how the investigation into this heinous crime proceeds, looking for any anomalies or inconsistencies in the official story line because we already KNOW that this crisis will be used by this criminal government to begin the process of disarming the American people. With that in mind, we received an interesting comment from reader AVM Friday evening.

AVM made the following startling observation which can be confirmed on wikipedia:
Suzanne Collins is the author of ‘The Hunger Games’.
Suzanne Collins resides in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, with her husband and their two children.
This horrific crime was perpetrated at [Sandy Hook Elementary in Newton, next to the town] in which the author of ‘The Hunger Games’ lives. These are never random events.
This appears to be a deliberately chosen place and symbolic false flag – a child sacrifice ritual that the Illuminati love so much.
You can read the remaining portion of AVM’s observation here in the comments section.

Until we understand more about what happened on Friday we do not necessarily agree with AVM’s conclusions. However, here are some facts: The ritual sacrifice killings of 23 children are portrayed in the book ‘The Hunger Games’. On Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary, near Sandy Hook, CT., home of ‘The Hunger Games’ author, 20 children were murdered making it the worst mass school shooting of children in U.S. history. At the very least, this is one deeply disturbing coincidence.

The Code of Hammurabi Book Cover

The Code of Hammurabi is one of the earliest known written legal codes, was composed about 1750 B.C.E. by Hammurabi, the ruler of Bablyon. The text was excavated in 1901; it was carved on an eight foot high stone monolith. The Code lays out the basis of both criminal and civil law, and defines procedures for commerce and trade. This text is considered the predecessor of Jewish and Islamic legal systems alike.

Perhaps the single most striking feature of Hammurabi’s Code is its commitment to protection of the weak from being brutalized by the strong. He believed that he had been ordained by his gods Anu (God of the Sky) and Bel (The Lord of Heaven and Earth, the God of Destiny) to establish the rule of law and justice over his people.

He referred to himself as the “shepherd of the oppressed and of the slaves,” and ordered that “these my precious words” be written upon his memorial stone, before his image “That the strong might not injure the weak, in order to protect the widows and orphans … in order to bespeak justice in the land, to settle all disputes, and heal all injuries …”

Hammurabi’s Code addressed the right of the poor to seek redress from wrongs committed by the wealthy or by the nobility. It also addressed the rights of women, including the rights of women to own property in their own names, and even the right to divorce a husband for grounds which would be recognized even today.

Video: 2 Mass Shootings Connected To Libor Scandal?

Via walfred

The father of Connecticut school shooter Adam Lanza, Peter Lanza, was the tax director for General Electric, a corporation that paid -0- taxes on 14.2 billion dollars in profits last year. According to Fabian4Liberty, Peter Lanza was scheduled to testify in the ongoing global LIBOR scandal. In what could only be described an amazing coincidence, the father of Colorado Batman shooter James Holmes, Robert Holmes, was also a LIBOR witness in his position with FICO. According to the link at FICO, Robert Holmes was a ‘Fraud Scientist’.

From Fabain4Liberty:

The father of Newtown Connecticut school shooter Adam Lanza is Peter Lanza who is a VP and Tax Director at GE Financial. The father of Aurora Colorado movie theater shooter James Holmes is Robert Holmes, the lead scientist for the credit score company FICO. Both men were to testify before the US Sentate in the ongoing LIBOR scandal. The London Interbank Offered Rate, known as Libor, is the average interest rate at which banks can borrow from each other. 16 international banks have been implicated in this ongoing scandal, accused of rigging contracts worth trillions of dollars. HSBC has already been fined $1.9 billion and three of their low level traders arrested.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a motive and a link. This coincidence is impossible to overlook. Two mass shootings connected to LIBOR.

Gunman a Loner Who Felt No Pain and A revenge killing

AP) - At Newtown High School, Adam Lanza had trouble relating to fellow students and teachers, but that was only part of his problem. He seemed not to feel physical or emotional pain in the same way as classmates.

Richard Novia, the school district's head of security until 2008, who also served as adviser for the school technology club, said Lanza clearly "had some disabilities."

"If that boy would've burned himself, he would not have known it or felt it physically," Novia told The Associated Press in a phone interview. "It was my job to pay close attention to that."

Novia was responsible for monitoring students as they used soldering tools and other potentially dangerous electrical equipment.

He recalled meeting with school guidance counselors, administrators and with the boy's mother, Nancy Lanza, to understand his problems and find ways to ensure his safety. But there were others crises only a mother could solve.

"He would have an episode, and she'd have to return or come to the high school and deal with it," Novia said, describing how the young man would sometimes withdraw completely "from whatever he was supposed to be doing," whether it was sitting in class or reading a book.

Adam Lanza "could take flight, which I think was the big issue, and it wasn't a rebellious or defiant thing," Novia said. "It was withdrawal."

Connecticut Shooting Was Revenge Killing

Chief Connecticut Medical Examiner H. Wayne Carver has released the names of those killed by 20-year-old Adam Lanza on December 14. Besides proving anew that the lives of far too many innocent people were taken by a cold blooded criminal, the report suggests that the killings were carried out in an act of revenge.

According to the report, Lanza shot the 20 child victims -- eight boys and 12 girls -- at close range and shot each victim between three and eleven times.

Other reports indicate that Lanza "visited Sandy Hook Elementary the day before [the shooting] and was involved in an altercation with four members of the staff of the school." Three of those four are now dead.

“How to help kids through hard times”

 A "brilliant" comment:

by Robert Valiquette
I am pro-gun ownership for hunting and self-defense only. AR’s and other assault weapons are design to hunt and kill people. If you need an AK-47 to hunt a deer, then you better go and get some training on how to hunt with a normal single shot rifle.

The terrible shooting in US that put 27 people to death, mostly six and seven year old children made me write this post. There is much controversial stuff.

Media outrage about gun laws instead more talk about media making people like the Aurora shooter to some kind of celebrity, that inspires other people to go out and “be someone” by doing extreme atrocities too.

I know many of you have families or are close friends with people who have. So today I want to talk about what happens to kids who get through some terrible times.

Kids had it too, just like grown up people. Maybe in different way, but they definitely absorbed all hard stuff that happened around all of us. You may expect that you can throw whole bunch of cardboard table games in one secure room inside house with your toddlers while you are fighting for survival and that everything gonna be OK with them.

And to be honest people did like that, nobody paid too much attention to kids, if you follow the site or are member of course you know how dramatically priorities change.

Most important thing was to keep kids physically safe. Everything else was kept for some other time, for time when peace comes, for time when „normal time“ comes. Even though often we did not expect to live to that day.

Later when normal time came, some of the folks realized that their kids are not actually „normal“ kids anymore.

Most of the people having tendency to forget time when they were kids, and think like kids actually do not understand too much, so there is no too much need for explaining things that are happening around them. Kids are small people, they are not idiots, they understand much more than we think.

In that time as I already said we did not pay too much time about explaining things to kids, explaining some bad things that they seen or heard happening around them.

I still think that we did not have time for that because we were occupied with much more important things, with food finding, and basic security things. But sometimes I think that we did not know how things gonna have influence on them, if we knew that maybe we would have found some time for that.

Anyway, today after any traumatic event in normal societies there is a whole system that is used to help kids to cope with that event, but do not forget that first and best friend for your kid is someone they trust, a close friend of family or you if you are parents, and you are the person who need to see problem with your kid.

Later when that kid is fully grown up person it is hard and sometimes impossible to correct some things. The bad patterns and trauma might have left too deep scar.

Examples around me are numerous, and whole society here is built on false and wrong values. I can say that one of the reason for that is that great number of young people are raised in wrong way.
