  1. The menu reads like a feast fit for a King. :)

What kind of sauce? It wouldn't be vinegar-based, no tomato, now would it? :)

    2. Wonderful!

My GGG-Grandfather was from NC, but we're unsure what part. He came to central Alabama sometime in the early 1800's, before he married here in 1841.

It must be where I get my taste for that kind of sauce. ( Heh! You have to be very careful around here who you tell, if you do like it; it's almost a hanging offense to prefer sauce that has nothing to do with tomatoes.:) ) I've only had that kind of BBQ twice in my life. Once from a volunteer fire dept in Monroeville, Ala., and once at a backyard co-workers BBQ put on by two black ladies ( true sisters ) who were a duo; one cooked, and the older one made the secret sauce ( The older sister was later murdered before she was able to hand down the recipe to her daughter; she was equally mourned both for her death, and for the death of her recipe...it was that good ).

And that's how I finally learned what real BBQ tastes like. NO tomatoes! :)

I'd love to be there, but have far too many business and family obligations to be gone that long and that far away. I love the Atlantic Coast, too; it's far, far more beautiful than the Gulf. :)
