North Carolina is the only southeastern state that does not have a constitutional amendment that protects marriage as the Bible defines it: only between one man and one woman. However, leadership in the state legislature has promised to bring up the Marriage Amendment for a floor vote during this session with the expectation of placing it on the 2012 ballot. However, we must show our support to those in the state legislature who are willing to move the Marriage Amendment forward.

Consequently, we are asking all concerned North Carolinians to bring family and friends to the Marriage Rally in Raleigh, NC on May 17, 2011 at 10:30 AM. The Rally will be held at Halifax Mall located directly behind the Legislative Building.

In addition to hearing from me, you will also hear from challenging speakers such as:

Thousands have traveled to Raleigh and expressed their support for Biblical Marriage at previous Return America Marriage Rallies. This will be the most important Rally yet since so much is at stake. So we are asking pastors to bring their congregations and Christian schools to bring their students and fill Halifax Mall.

Make attending on May 17th a priority. Here's why: If the Marriage Amendment is approved by both chambers of the State Legislature during this session, it will finally be on the ballot in 2012 for a vote so that the people of North Carolina can have a voice.

The North Carolina our children and grandchildren inherit from us may be determined by the outcome of this Rally and the votes that follow. With that in mind, we hope you will make every effort to support the Marriage Rally on May 17.
