.38 & .357

  1. No doubt that would put the hurt on some bad guys!

I'm kinda partial to .40 S&W myself, with a little .45acp just because.

    Whatever works, eh? :)

  2. Yep, I would prefer my one of my two Glock 45's, 21 and 30, in a jam, but the best I've come up with that I will carry 100% of the time is my .357 LCR.

  3. I carry an XD40 Sub. I have a service model with 4" barrel and a tactical with a 5" barrel plus a couple of .45acp's. Too big for me to CC.

My gun dealer is trying to talk me into an LCP with a laser. Maybe for my wife? Of course she carries a purse that could hide a 1911 with no problem :)

  4. I had a NAA .380 and sold it to buy the LCR .38 and as soon as I received it, they announced the .357. So when they finally had it for sale, way late, I sold the .38 and now have the .357. I don't like those little autos as they have a tendency to stovepipe unless you have a firm wrist. I feel much more confident now. I do 150 reps for my wrist each day as this 17 ounce .357 with max loads kicks real well, but no problem with being on target. It does sting. You might consider getting her the LCR .357 and then using max .38's in it . Should be no problem and if she later could handle the .357, then all the better.

  5. I've been trying to talk her into getting an SP 101 in .357 for a couple of months. She works at a credit union and opens by herself every morning at 6:30 to prepare for the day. I don't really like that too much, especially in the winter when it's dark. She is familiar with handguns and can be talked into shooting every once in awhile. She's no stranger to the range. She just loves her Ruger Mk I. She's kinda hard headed about carrying though. Doesn't think she needs to. I'm working on that. May have to look at that LCR. She's fired my Glock 22 but hates the recoil :)

  6. KSP-321XL

Is=t's 8 ounces more, so the kick should be slighter, but maybe not, because because looking at their grip, it doesn't appear to me that it would absolve the recoil as well.
