Less than 2/3rds of working age adults in this country are employed or actively seeking employment.That leaves over a 3rd of working-age Americans gaining some sort of income from some other source than a regular job.They are either receiving government subsidies (food stamps and such),off the books employment (odd jobs and such),charity,or they are involved in various criminal enterprises.

Only 63.7% of working-age Americans are currently in the workforce – the lowest in almost 29 years!
To put it another way, 36.3% of working-age Americans do not have a job and are not even looking.

I have applied for many jobs in this area and have had many interviews. I have not landed a job. I have been told by the HR managers that so many people are applying, that if you get a job its like winning the lottery!

ReplyDeleteEverywhere I go I ask if they are getting 40 hours a week. 98% say they are only getting part time work, but would like full time. I think many are underemployed.
