Dairy Queen employee shoots and kills sword-wielding robber

Via Zombie Rush

A Las Vegas Dairy Queen was the scene of a deadly shooting, after an employee protects the store from a sword-wielding robber.

Metro Police say a masked suspect entered the Dairy Queen with a samurai sword.

"It was a full-sized, martial arts sword," says Lt. Ray Steiber, with Metro Homicide. "It's not something you see every day. That sword is deadly, if in the right hands."

The attempted robbery happened around 12:15 p.m. Sunday at the business located in the 2500 block of South Maryland Parkway, just south of Sahara Avenue.

Action News spoke with the family who owns the Dairy Queen. It was a father and two sons, who were working at the time of the incident. They're extremely shaken up. They say the suspect came into their store screaming and waving the sword violently. That's when one of those family members pulled out a gun, and shot the suspect.

(That's how you handle a robbery, call nine-one-one if you must, AFTER you've taken care of business)
