  1. About the first picture, when St Paul wrote, 'Put on the full armor of God', I don't think that's what he meant.

  2. My father walked 81 miles in three days in the fall of '44 through the French farm field mud, carrying a BAR. In 1993, I asked him, "Were there any bright spots in the Hurtgen Forest campaign?" "Oh, hell, yes." He responded. "Tanks." "A worn-out infantryman could sometimes get a ride. I loved tanks."

Until he passed he raved about the German 88 mm. tank gun and its incredible accuracy and versatility. Although, I made propellant for every field piece we had in the seventies, including Honest John artillery rockets, TOW rockets, NIKE AJax and Hercules, and all the ship guns and even the Atomic Cannon, he remained, in our discussions, impressed only with the John Moses Browning's M1911, the M1 Garand, The Browning Automatic Rifle, and the German 88.

I personally would like to own a 155 mm M192 howitzer. We also made, at Radford, BAPs, Boosted Artillery Projectiles, or at least the added conical piece that gave the 155 round more range. What a gun.

    1. Interesting indeed. We had the Garand in military school where I got my first and last M-1 thumb!:) I want a 105 on a Jeep and quad-fifties on a deuce and a half.
