Congressman King emphasized how the bill is really really bad. He fears a doomsday
scenario in which House leadership allows a conference between the
House and Senate versions that might pass legislation unfavorable to the
rule of law.
Rep.
King said, “That conference committee could produce from it some
version of the amnesty bill and send it to the floor, unamendable, an
up-or-down vote, in which case, every Democrat would vote for it, it
would only take a couple of dozen Republicans, and we could be stuck
with a very bad bill on the way to the president. So I’m most concerned
about that and I’ll continue to talk about that.”
