How The U.S. Military Plans To Hijack The Airwaves

Via WiscoDave

If you want to take over a nation, then first take over its airwaves. Broadcast your messages and interdict the enemy’s ability to broadcast theirs. When the U.S. attacked Iraq in 1991, or NATO bombed Serbia in 1999, among the first targets destroyed were TV and radio stations. When there is a military coup in Africa, the first buildings the rebels usually grab are the radio and TV studios. So it is illuminating that the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), the organization that oversees America’s elite special forces, is quietly searching for equipment that will effectively give it control over every FM and AM radio station in an area.

  1. Justification for a general coverage shortwave receiver so you can listen to foreign broadcast stations. There are some decent ones for less than $200. I don't have one, mine are either ham transceivers with general coverage receivers or older general coverage receivers.
If anyone it interested I can post a link to some reviews.
Hans or Si Graybeard might have some good ideas.

  2. Indeed... to get your message out [or not to] is a game changer... There are missiles called "HARMs" which home in on signals to destroy their targets.
Meanwhile, under the current Marxist regime, pirate radio has taken on a large presence on HF [shortwave] with broadcasts on or around 6925.0 KHz. Pirate radio has mushroomed under this administration & much of it is based on political dissent...
Get a General Coverage receiver... I have many here,as I am a ham operator, including some SDRs [Software Defined Radios] that are black boxed fully functional receivers. One SDR is called an AFEDRI, costs $250 & can be plugged in over an ethernet network so you can tune it over a laptop or tablet connected to your network...
