Wrap-up Regarding Levin's Dangerous Con-Con Proposal

In this week's analysis behind the news video, JBS CEO Art Thompson wraps up the discussion of talk-show host Mark Levin's new book, The Liberty Amendments: Restoring the American Republic, which calls for an Article V constitutional convention and proposes eleven amendments that such a convention should consider.

  1. A Con-Con would so fuck us -- it would be the last straw that breaks this once great nation. There are no limits as to an agenda so the "representatives" to the convention can address and do anything that fits their little statist minds. Imagine a new constitution written to satisfy the evil twins of our statist government -- progressives and neoconservatives; they are not that far apart in their core philosophies...and liberty is an abstract and nebulous construct that would definitely not be included.

Precedent for the reps doing whatever they want, our current (and ignored) Constitution came out of a meeting called to "modify and update" our original Article of Confederation. Their are no Constitutional restraints or rules as to how a Con-Con can operate or limit their agenda and final findings.

    1. I want nonthinking to do with one. I saw a proposed list of changes quite some while ago and you can just imagine what they had for the 2nd amendment. Like the speaker said, vote on one at a time legislatively.

  2. There is a 'State' convention, and a Constitutional Convention.
TWO different things. There has never been a StateCon, called by the STATES! A StateCon, can only enact amendments, not, 'new constitutions'... We love the Constitution, but we won't use the Constitution to ham string the Fed monster? We are scared? Of what, the Statists? F* them, let it get nasty...

Its either this, or violence, and we can't win anything but a protracted civil war... maybe that's what some of us want...? The reality of war is portrayed on this site sometimes in all its gory detail. Is that what we want, only standing up against a global beast?

I was like both of you until I figured out, if we were united we out number them, and it would not result in the horror I imagined.
I don't know what's worse... waiting for Obama and the Globalists to put us in our grave, or us fighting amongst ourselves.
"A house divided cannot stand"... this, is the reason we go down into civil war. For what? To 'restore the constitution'? Bullshit. Why bother if we won't even use it now... because we're 'skeered'.

If we won't follow the constitution now, what are we going to fight for? I won't fight for somebody to pronounce himself warlord. I won't fight for anymore centralized governments. So what's left?

A new confederation, the truest manifestation of true liberty?
That would be worth fighting for, and, it would have to be fought for. The III need to define their goals, and come together on 'something' or eventually, we will be a leaderless mass of cats, fighting for who's got the biggest dick.

    1. I think the best that will come out of all this infighting is grouping together of kindred souls.
