Pizza delivery driver shoots and kills armed robber trying to steal cash

When James Wethers heard three gunshots around 11:00 p.m. Monday night, he looked outside and saw a frantic pizza delivery driver and a man face down on the driveway across the street from his home on Gaylord in Redford Township.

Redford Police say the pizza delivery driver opened fire as he was being robbed by 20-year-old Tajuan Boyd.

  1. You just know that the pizza driver is going to be fired. Long time ago, I had a part time job as a pizza delivery driver. Company policy was in the case of a robbery, you were to give the robber the money and what ever else he wanted. Any money stolen came out of your paycheck. You were strictly forbidden to carry any thing for self defense. I always tip the pizza guy, as I know what it is like to be him.
As for the pizza driver; Thank you for your service. That is one less legged vermin on the streets and you just may have prevented a future murder of an innocent person.
