American Liberty at the Crossroads: Do We Sit, or Do We Show Up and Fight..........

Via WRSA

....... and Win?

SurvivalBlog reader B.B. suggested this piece by Mark Steyn: The Drift toward Despotism. And joining the chorus, even more stridently: The Creeping Police State. Soon after sending those links, B.B. sent this brilliant essay from Daren Jonescu: The Progressive Degradation of Freedom.

Reading Jonescu's cogent words crystallized a nascent theory that had been nagging me for a decade. It is this: America's systemic reaction to the unspeakable horror of the 9/11 attacks was to "protect" ourselves by planting the seeds for a police state that will eventually strangle the freedom that we grew up cherishing.

  1. Yes and every God fearing Right wing Republican Gun owning NASCAR fan cheered it on with chants of USA-USA. The fact is; We the People did this to ourselves. I remember right after 9/11 being told to "get your hippie ass outa' here" by a fat redneck, for objecting to the "patriot act".-- Brock ; All the laws being used by Obama to hammer us; Every one of them, WE(right wing gun owners) SUPORTED THEM. With every drug law; With every "Republican" President. With every law meant to "suppress" the "inner city" "minority" "gangs" and "terrorist", WE created the monster. It WAS NOT the "progressives" that started the "war on drugs"(Nixon -R Reagan-R) They didn't start the "war on guns"(Bush I-R) and they didn't have much at all to do with the "patriot act"(Bush II-R) or the "NDAA" (Obama signed it-the Republicans WROTE it) It is long past time for "The Right" to own up to the fact that they not only supported this ;THEY DEMANDED IT. With every Republican Vote.-- "Freedom" and "liberty" are just words when you keep "voting" to keep the same Nazi slave master in power. -----P.S Haven't any of y'all noticed by now that the "anti-gun" crowd keeps us looking at the "left"; while the "right" implements the "laws" BOTH sides use to hammer us? Kinda' makes one think they work together. ------Ray

    1. Kinda' makes one think they work together.

      Indeed, both parties are worthless.
