An unarmed, emotionally disturbed man shot at by the police as he was lurching around traffic near Times Square in September has been charged with assault, on the theory that he was responsible for bullet wounds suffered by two bystanders, according to an indictment unsealed in State Supreme Court in Manhattan on Wednesday.

ReplyDeleteRidiculous!!!! They are probably trying to shift blame in order to avoid a massive lawsuit.
So now police not only abuse your rights, beat you up, shoot your pets and possibly murder you... if they injure or kill some innocent in the process of arresting you they will charge you with the crime.

I don't know why we even bother pretending we have a justice system any more. At best we have a "legal" system, and even that's rapidly going by the wayside as the powers that be and their enforcers just make stuff up as they go along without worrying if it's even consistent with their own so-called "laws."
