U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) today introduced the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2014, which would allow individuals with concealed carry privileges in their home state to exercise those rights in any other state that also has concealed carry laws.

The legislation is cosponsored by U.S. Sens. Thune (R-SD), Vitter (R-LA), Graham (R-SC), Boozman (R-AR), Inhofe (R-OK), Crapo (R-ID), Burr (R-NC), Cochran (R-MS), Johanns (R-NE), Enzi (R-WY), Moran (R-KS), Roberts (R-KS), and Portman (R-OH).

  3. It will probably require all states to comply with the most restrictive rules of any of the states if I know that bunch like I think I do.

    1. I just checked a couple of the gun blogs and they said it looked good. Don't know if there is more print that I haven't found though.

Yet although the proposed legislation would allow permit holders to carry from state to state, they would still have to abide by the individual states’ laws concerning concealed carry and firearms in general. Those laws can vary tremendously, just as the requirements to obtain a concealed carry permit do.

“Just like traffic laws, it’s my responsibility to know as a driver what those laws are going to be in another state,” Fant explained.

  4. While some may think this wonderful, the truth is that IT IS A TRAP.

WHY should we petition for a permission skip to exercise our GOD GIVEN RIGHTS to the means of self defense?

How this will play out - a framework is being constructed in a non-linear fashion. You will not be able to open carry - you will either get a CCW, carry illegally or not at all - this is step #2. Step #3 will be two many states with conflicting laws - then after creating the problem the solution presented will be a federal carry permit, FOR WHICH YOU MUST AGAIN APPLY. How does anyone think that will play out?

PLEASE FOLKS - a CCW is an infringment of YOUR RIGHT TO CARRY. That right EXISTS now - you don't need permission to exercise a right. Don't be a party to this.
