I heard of folks using fluorescent glow-in-the-dark paint that is normally used on fishing tackle. Cheap and darn near available anywhere fishing gear is sold...
The forbearing use of power does not only form a touchstone, but the manner in which an individual enjoys certain advantages over others is a test of a true gentleman.
The power which the strong have over the weak, the employer over the employed, the educated over the unlettered, the experienced over the confiding, even the clever over the silly—the forbearing or inoffensive use of all this power or authority, or a total abstinence from it when the case admits it, will show the gentleman in a plain light.
The gentleman does not needlessly and unnecessarily remind an offender of a wrong he may have committed against him. He cannot only forgive, he can forget; and he strives for that nobleness of self and mildness of character which impart sufficient strength to let the past be but the past.
A true man of Honor feels humble himself when he cannot help humbling others.
That was funny. I know just how he feels too. Bought a new watch and it was too big, Spend a couple of hours taking out 4 links. Frazzle#$@!%^&$% pins! Yeah, I'm too cheap to take it to a jeweler. ;-)
Well, it isn't an expensive watch. I am rather hard on them because of my outdoor activities so if I can get 4 or 5 years from a 50 dollar Timex I'm happy. I figure it would cost more to take it to the jeweler than what the watch is worth. Then there is that streak of pigheadedness that seems to surface when faced with a challenge. ;-) Miss Violet

ReplyDeleteDamn, I hadn't thought of that and should have plenty around here. Thanks.
DeleteThis really cracked me up. The poor guy did not apply the KISS principle (Keep it simple, sweetie) - liquid paper was the way to go!
ReplyDeleteA humble man to have come up with the ending. An attribute I deeply admire.

DeleteI used to be, but after one experience, I deemed it cheaper to pay them than me destroy it. :)
