  1. Cobb sure does resemble Jackie Gleason-- why would anyone mess up a mint julep with nutmeg, even an obnoxious Yankee?....yuck !

I just read General Buckner's poetic recipe for making the real deal, and it made me swoon )... Have you ever gone through the whole process, Mr. Townsend?

No, I haven't as the only times I have had them were at parties which had bartenders. Really the way to go! :)

  2. Finding a clean creek these days isn't easy either - yes, leave it to the professionals!

(sure didn't mean to besmirch Jackie Gleason with the comparison )

  3. Geez, am I ever a slow Yankee - now I get it. I mistook Cobb for the one who did the deed...okay I am going to go sit down now and be quiet for a long while...

  5. For a true taste of Kentucky , use a single malt "corn only " whisky of at least 10 years age.(aged in charred white oak) The waters of central Ky. come from limestone springs /wells. Wild mint is in every way preferable to "store bought". Don't use to much mint-- the wild mint is STRONG. ---Ray

  6. I'd like a sip of Old Rip Van Winkle, but it's prohibitively expensive. There are some good bourbons though, without going overboard.
