In Indiana school board has voted 7-0 to allow school administrators and school board members who undergo specific training and uses specific equipment to carry firearms inside campus buildings. It’s a heck of a win for the data-driven approach to combating school violence:

Administrators and school board members with the North White School Corporation can carry guns inside campus buildings beginning in July.

The North White Board of Trustees voted unanimously, 7-0, to approve the new policy on Monday. According to North White School Board President Shannon Mattix, the policy states guns may be carried inside campus buildings while school is in session and at school events.

    1. Wow, all I can say is wow. but what was the deal with the mother immediately going to help the child, then abandoning him and running away?

    2. I saw that, too - all I can think is that maybe she was trying to get the dog to chase her...please, Lord, let that be the reason (

  2. I think that law is not what it appears. It says it allows school "administrators and school board members" to be armed at the school. To my knowledge the school board members are seldom ever in the school and the only administrators are the principal and his assistants. How about allowing the teachers and the janitor to be armed?

Sounds to me like they want to allow the principal and the school board to defend themselves against the PTA.

      Certainly should be.

    2. The PTA could definitely be considered domestic terrorists, especially when they protest against the Core Curriculum - I can just see that poor dad being hauled off in handcuffs for going over his allotted time to protest porn being taught to his daughter. All the school board members could have pulled their guns and said they felt threatened. Not a single person rose to that dad's defense either.

      I remember that. Disgusting.

  3. My town in NW Texas instituted that exact policy a year ago. Numerous faculty availed themselves of the opportunity. Strangely enough, no mass shootings, and other assaults in the schools are down. Amazing!
