Residents in a Charlotte neighborhood say they are fed up with a neighbor they say stands at the front door of his home naked, but police say he's not doing anything illegal.
People in the Cardinal Glen neighborhood in north Charlotte say the man has been doing this for nearly ten years and on Friday, they called police again.
"I was out rolling the trash can on Friday and I just happened to look over there and he was standing there buck naked," neighbor Pecolia Threatt said. "It's not good to have people walking around here naked like that a grown man like that with all these kids out here you know,"
Neighbors say the man opens his door in the nude and even talks on his cell phone all in clear view of his neighbors. They're disgusted and fed up.

One load of rock salt will break him of sucking eggs.
ReplyDelete:) Seems the cops should have at least talked to the man explaining that he wasn't breaking the law, but he wasn't minding his Southern Manners. :)
ReplyDeleteThe rock salt is a bit extreme, but I was thinking a sniper pellet rifle round to the nads might deter him.
ReplyDeleteAn old Red Ryder BB to the balls would suffice, I do believe. :)
DeletePenis envy? Only the shadow knows...
ReplyDeleteNo doubt he's some sort of a pervert BUT with that said and with the mention of Southern Manners I MUST say that I was taught not to look into peoples houses
ReplyDeleteand if I saw someone undressed to look away. Even when I go to someone's door, I ring the bell and turn away from the door so that I don't accidentally see someone inside in a compromised situation. After all it is their home.
I'll say again, he's some sort of a pervert and obviously knows the law and is pushing it to the limit but if the folks in the neighborhood would follow my rule they wouldn't be bothered by him. At least not for more than a quick glance. On the contrary, I bet the old ladies in that neighborhood stare at his door constantly in hopes of seeing him so they can fain offense when in fact they get a thrill from it.
Time was the men of the neighborhood would call him out, take him into the backyard and give him as serious beating. He wouldn't do it again. But nowadays there is always a neighborhood douch bag liberal who would squeel to the cops making the administration of such local justice all but impossible.
ReplyDeleteGood point and reminds me of military school where fighting was permissible as long as the parties did so behind the 'old gym' only. Back when common sense reigned.
DeleteJust remembered:

A load of birdshot through the front door would probably solve the problem.
ReplyDeleteCan't imagine why the men in the neighborhood didn't do anything, evidently. Must all be liberals...... :)
DeleteNot breaking any laws?
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me?
"What constitutes the crime of Indecent Exposure?
It is defined as:
Willfully (or, in layman's terms, intentionally) - Check!
Exposing - Check!
The private part - Check!
In a public place - Check!
In the presence of another" - Check!
Class 2 misdemeanor.

I think his skin color is making a difference, personally. No one wants to be the reason why a mini ferguson starts...
He looks white to me and the article states:
DeleteAccording to North Carolina law, a person can only be charged with indecent exposure if they "willfully expose the private parts of his or her person in any public place and in the presence of any other person or persons."
Standing completely undressed, in the main doorway to your domicile, to ME, indicates clear intent to display your junk to the world.
Delete*shrug*
as for skin color - you may be right - when I looked during posting he looked light skinned-black but now that you say that I can see him being white. So that snarky comment is moot now in my uncertainty :)
in any public place
DeleteShould be reworded to: be able to be seen from a public place. One thing for sure, he's an ignoramus.
There does not seem to be a law against women walking around downtown
ReplyDeleteAsheville with their breasts exposed. How could a law be missed to criminalize
this when they have a law for every dam thing coming and going.
This man exposing himself enjoys shocking the neighborhood. "Ten years" good grief.

Forgot about that. Thanks.
After ten years this could have been rectified. There use to be a law on the Georgia
ReplyDeletebooks that if a man and woman checked into a hotel/motel as man and wife,
they were legally married. This law was easily abolished when a situation arose.
Interesting. Thanks.
