Gunman surrounded in van after bizarre attack on Dallas police HQ

Authorities were in a standoff early Saturday with at least one gunman in an armored van who fled the scene of a bizarre attack on Dallas police headquarters with gunfire and planted explosives.

Police chased the vehicle to a restaurant parking lot in the community of Hutchins, where it was surrounded and "disabled" with a .50 caliber rifle, according to Dallas police.
The blue van was parked near a field at the edge of the parking lot, with police cars clustered at a distance behind it.

  2. There should be a law against those high capacity assault vans.

  3. Gee I thought those military weapons weren't supposed to be used any longer and they were to be returned?

Isn't there a safer way to disable a vehicle in a metro area other than shooting the (assumed) engine block with a 50 round?
Gungho cops playing with their toys before mom and dad take them away I guess...

  4. "The White House said that effective immediately, the federal government will no longer fund or provide armored vehicles that run on a tracked system instead of wheels, weaponized aircraft or vehicles, firearms or ammunition of .50-caliber or higher,

I guess it depends on what the definition of immediate means..............:)

  5. This is not going to end well especially affecting people who are not prone to
this type of violence. The balance of the country has been corrupted.
Dallas police chief: "We are under attack in America," he said. "We need the tools to get the job done." The police are not going to sit back and take this and I wouldn't
    either.

    2. We are all going to be sick of hearing about this. Before they shut up, the media will wear us out. Too much money to be made, as well as a nice diversion from what is really being done to us.

Precisely and yet another reason to "turn on, tune in, drop out." :)
