I road in a '70 cuda 440 magnum once. 400 hp? My ford diesel has 445. But that is an altogether different kind of juice.
Well, they underrated the HP for insurance purposes. The fastest I ever rode in was a '65 Cobra 289. The 289 was 0 to 60 in 4.2 and the 427 was 4.0, not much difference, I could have bought a brand new 289 Cobra for under $8,000 then, but couldn't afford it, so bought a 5K mile Hi-Po 289 for $2,800. Sure wish I had that now.
