All licensed handgun owners in Ulster County should carry their pistols. That’s the message Thursday from the Ulster County Sheriff. Ulster County is located about two hours north of New York City.

  1. I got a better idea. Unless you are a convicted felon and have had your 2nd amendment right curtailed, you should carry.

    1. The two you mentioned will anyway, so it should be everyone with Natural Rights, which is of course everyone, should carry. :)

    3. Article I, Section 30, NC constitution "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; and, as standing armies in time of peace are dangerous to liberty, they shall not be maintained, and the military shall be kept under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power. Nothing herein shall justify the practice of carrying concealed weapons, or prevent the General Assembly from enacting penal statutes against that practice."

The state has not been granted authority to regulate open carry.
