Left, right prep for battle royal over Sessions

Conservative and liberal groups are gearing up for a battle royal over Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions that some activists say will be so explosive, it could even overshadow a fight over Donald Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court.

Nearly 150 outside groups on the left mobilizing to stop Sessions have delivered a stern, no-compromise message to incoming Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.).

The groups plan to make Sessions’s past comments about race the defining element in his confirmation battle.

“We’ve already been engaged with Schumer’s office with a real demand that he should stand up and fight and we will fight anyone who seeks to be an enabler for a racist overseeing our Justice Department,” said Rashad Robinson, the executive director of Color of Change, which describes itself as the nation’s largest online racial justice organization.

“People really have two choices. Either they’re OK with racism or they’re not. And if they’re not, then they’ve got to stand up against Jeff Sessions,” Robinson said.  (Dingbat)

  1. Brain dead black/white dualism. I voted for Trump and despise Sessions, but not for being racist, which he is not, but because he ignorantly said "Good people don't use marijuana." He'll get mine out of my cold dead hands. Cannabis oil has relegated my chronic foot pain to the past after 6 months of use. Harry Ainslinger is alive and well and getting another Big Government job where he can make the lives of ordinary folks more miserable. What a maroon. All across America young Mothers are in prison for trying to relieve the pain and seizures of autistic children with a little bit of harmless oil. Those Marine Generals Trump's appointing did a great job protecting the Karzai brothers poppy fields to keep the heroin supply up. I expect they'll put all us weed users in the W/Cheney camps. Glad to be a deplorable not-good person. I have lived too long.

    1. Thanks and grass prevents nausea.

  2. People already showed they're OK with racism - we had Eric Holder, right?
