this essay is by abraxas, and it goes a long way in explaining why donald trump is president of the united states.   and, why certain of us (and in no small numbers) will fight, as in "engage in mortal combat," to keep him president.

follows the essay:
For nearly all last year my friends begged me to listen to one of Trump's campaign speeches but I didn't.  I was too cynical to think any political harangue could be interesting - or believable.  But I was wrong and, Lord, did I discover that today when, for the first time in my life, I listened to him speak.  It blew my socks off.  I sat there in front of my computer screen listening to the live streaming of his speech on YouTube and my mouth dropped open in astonishment.  I had never heard such a riveting, thrilling speech in my life, the hairs on the back of my arms stood up.  This man has the power of speech and charisma I've not witnessed since the days of Reagan.  I was blown away, just blown away.

  1. Trump isn't so great at making speeches that I've seen, unless he's gotten better. Obama was actually quite gifted at reading from a teleprompter.

I just like the content of Trump's speeches! And I like how Trump clearly cares about the American citizenry, for whatever reason. It's clear by his actions: This man cares and does what he says he'll do, doesn't simply do as the powers-that-be want.
