Moral Outrage Over Low Wages: Canada Joins Trump With Threats To Leave NAFTA

Via Frank

The threat of total abandonment of NAFTA took on a second front this weekend as Canada’s biggest private-sector union said NAFTA should be scrapped if Mexico cannot agree to better labor standards.

Please consider Sharp Differences Over Labor Surface at NAFTA Talks in Mexico.
Tensions over sharp differences in pay between Mexican workers and their Canadian and U.S. counterparts surfaced on Sunday as negotiators discussed labor market rules in talks to overhaul the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Canada’s biggest private-sector union said NAFTA should be scrapped if Mexico cannot agree to better labor standards, clashing with Mexican business leaders who argued that workers rights were a matter for each country to resolve internally.

  1. That is the reason outfits like Ford Motor Company rushed down there and spent billions of dollars on new plants.
It is also the same reason wages have been stagnant in this country for decades. Damn straight businessmen down there don't want to have to pay the campaneros more money. They are raking it in by the carload under NAFTA because they don't have to pay them jack schitt and they are also exempt from our health and safety regulations.

  2. So called "free trade" functions well for all among "the several States" where all are under the same laws. "Free trade" among nations with different legal systems doesn't work for all. That's why NAFTA is not "free trade", but international managed trade. Even Henry Kissinger, a globalist supporter of NAFTA said back in 1992, that "it was not a conventional trade agreement, but the architecture of a new international order...a creative step to the New World Order." --Ron W

  3. Globalist administrations, Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama, promoted and presided over "free trade" for the benefit of the global economy. Bill Clinton said in a SOTU speech, "globalism is the central reality of our time". I also recall George W. Bush in a presidential debate with John Kerry answering a question about illegal immigration saying, "that's why I like NAFTA so much, "it'll create good jobs down there (Me'ico) so they won't come here" admitting that it was designed to send our jobs there. And his assertion that it was a solution for illegal immigration was wrong! But he and John Kerry, both Skull and Bones globalist buds, agreed on that--open borders and the New World Order. --Ron W
