LAS VEGAS, NV - OCTOBER 02: People are directed to rides outside the Thomas & Mack Center after a mass shooting at a country music festival on October 2, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. People who could not go to hotel-casinos that were closed after the shooting are temporarily staying at the center. The gunman, identified as Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada, allegedly opened fire from the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on the music festival, leaving at least 50 people dead and hundreds injured. Police have confirmed that one suspect has been shot. The investigation is ongoing. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

CBS legal executive Hayley Geftman-Gold was fired over comments she made on social media about not being sympathetic toward victims of the Las Vegas shooting because they were likely Republicans.

On Sunday night, at least 58 people were killed and more than 500 were injured when gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire on country music festival attendees from his 32nd floor room at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, according to local authorities.

Geftman-Gold wrote in a Facebook post comment how she didn't have any hope that Republicans, "Repugs," would "ever do the right thing," and that she isn't sympathetic to the shooting victims because country music fans are often "Republican gun toters." The Daily Caller was the first to report on her comments.

  1. This is what the face of "Nazism" (aka evil) looks like here in the FUSA, when one is so warped by their political world view and every facet of life is political, that the death of some one is celebrated solely because of a suspected difference in political identification.
Of course those despised "Repugs" have done the right thing, by doing acts of charity daily large, as in coming to the aid of Hurricane victims or small acts of compassion. But since that does not fit the narrative, it will be ignored to conform to the predetermined judgement. If Hayley Geftman-Gold has that much hate towards people she has never meet, for the sole reason of her prejudice against those whose politics differs from hers', then it must truly suck to be her.
