Allegations are not facts, and they frequently prove to be false. Politics, corruption, bribery, greed, revenge, and blind ideology are often the seeds of false witness that produce character assassination and murder. The Salem Witch Trials of 1692 resulted in the judicial murder of twenty people based on the testimony of false and hysterical witnesses. This is the history of the judicial murder of Henry Wirz in 1865, using a false witness and a military commission that was really a “hanging jury.”

Henry Wirz was a Swiss immigrant, who settled in Louisiana before the Civil War. He enlisted in the Confederate Army and by 1864 held the rank of Captain. Captain (later Major) Henry Wirz was appointed Commandant of the Confederate Prisoner of War (POW) camp at Andersonville, Georgia, a few months after it was established early in 1864. During its existence in 1864 and 1865, it was the largest Confederate prison, holding at one time nearly 33,000 Union POWs. Of the 45,000 Union soldiers there during its existence nearly 13,000 died. Most of these died of diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid, small pox, scurvy, and hospital gangrene. Dysentery and diarrhea alone accounted for 4,500 deaths from March to August 1864.

  1. I live pretty near to Andersonville, the old Camp Sumter prison grounds and National Cemetery. I have been many times to visit this area. I moved to Georgia from elsewhere, but after the first time that I visited the place, I made it a point to research the history involving the camp and Capt. Wirz. He was indeed unjustly punished and really died a hero of the Confederacy and America. He was an honorable man who was maligned and murdered by his adopted nation. I always feel saddened by the whole place for both the Confederates and Union soldiers who suffered because of the dishonorable northern leadership. Good article, that tells the truth of Capt. Wirz. An interesting side point, there is a Kaolin mine or plant just down the road. If it had been known at the time, Kaolin is good for clotting blood and for stomach ailments. It helps stop diarrhea.

  2. Please help the victims of the National Institute of Justice's "intelligent surveillance" research. The NIJ is using our taxpayer dollars to violate our constitutional rights, recklessly endanger our lives, and torture us 24/7. Senator Kaine told me that this program funds Newport News Police Department and Virginia state police. Both are required to have a signed informed consent form for each human subject. The NIJ follows the common rule. Citizens need to request the name and contact number for the IRB as well as the grant administrator. We need to ask our senators to defund the NIJ for failure to follow the "common rule" and for violations of our constitutional rights as well as the torture and murder of thousands of innocent citizens. The perps are state and local police. The funding is the NIJ. In addition, cops steal the identity of the victim and use Medicaid to supplement their nonconsensual human subject research. This is a felony. They must allow us to opt out. The NIJ are required by law to pay for our attorney fees, medical expenses, and any change in financial position as well as punitive damages! I now have cancer throughout my body as a direct result of this technology. The NIJ, Newport News Police and Virginia state police are to blame for my cancer and stealing a decade of my life!
