Sellout! Dolly Parton dropping 'Dixie' from Dixie Stampede attractions

Via Billy

Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede will have a new name when it opens for the 2018 season.

According to a press release from World Choice Investments, which operates several dinner show attractions for Parton, the word "Dixie" will be dropped. The show's official website has already been changed to reflect the new name, Dolly Parton's Stampede.

Why the change?

  1. All I can say is shame on you, Dolly, you traitor. Who the Hell do you think
made her rich - the Dixie/Southern types. I use to listen to her on the
juke box, deep in the South of Dixie.

  2. Time to break my Dolly Parton CD's and send them back. Another "Star" I won't listen to cause she is too worried about her money and being "PC"

    1. Use them as targets. That's what I did when I found Jane Fonda workout tapes that my 2nd wife had hidden. :)

  6. Brock, is Dixie still using her given name 'Dixie'?
I had a cousin, deceased, and his given name was Bubba
and he changed it later on. I mean Bubba isn't the greatest
name in the world but you know, it is what it is.
