  1. If you have ANY type of appliance or device such as a refrigerator or thermostat that can connect to the internet
that device WILL gather info and pass it along whether you wish it or not.

Thanks but how do you check? My refrigerator is from 2002 and one of he thermostats was probably changed within the the last few years.

    2. A fridge from 2002 probably is not part of the IOT. But an electronic thermostat....especially one you can control from a phone is.....it could even be your phone. Can't tell you for sure but there are plenty of things out there that can be part of the IOT if not specifically prohibited.

  2. If you have a wireless router its possible to log into it and see how many devices are connected and the mac addresses of those devices. If the router is pass worded nothing should be connected that you didn't give a password.
Beware of the google and amazon devices. They listen all the time they are on.

  3. If there is an app where you can make changes to those devices/appliances via cell phone or computer, it is computer-based.

  4. This is a prime example of why I stay far away from Amazon's Alexa and Google assistant. I don't have a smart phone either. A good old fashion tip & ring copper landline is the way I stay connected and I rarely even use that.

One of my daughters gave me one and I listen to Reuters news as I wash up in the morning. 100% anti-Trump.

  5. I don't know anything about 5G wireless as I stay as simple
as possible. All I want is speakers outside so I can listen
to certain podcast/radio shows while I work. Here is some
on the controls that are here and are coming. I know those
    smart meters monitor everything electrical:
